  • Had a few good days at start of last week but nothing for the last two days due to rain and wind.
Nice and sunny / dry at the moment so will go to allotment latter just to check poly and wonky are still standing and for any other damage  :/

Who's Wonky? I can guess who Poly is  ;)

Buried the bulbs that arrived yesterday, should have bought more bargain tulips, the 30 went nowhere in the bed, wanted to have a decent display. I had issues with the camassia, intended to put 15 around a rose bush I've ordered but everywhere I put the fork in I found a bulb already. I planned the spaces last spring so can't really fathom it. Have put all the camassia in pots for now, hopefully they'll be alright, and will have to plant next year.

Also potted up two lots of daffs, 7 of 15 of one batch were soft so will get in touch with supplier as they weren't sale bulbs. It's J Parkers and they're normally alright for sorting stuff. Got a free mix of species tulips and potted them also.

Watered the Xmas tree and did some wild bird admin. Rescued a worm from a pot of water and buried it in a bulb pot, poor thing, not the weather for swimming.

  • Parkers are sending out another bag, thought I'd mention it as they sometimes get bad press. Might need to source another pot 🤔

  • Nothing doing here - heavy rain for the past two days. Hopefully we will get out tomorrow, I have a list of garden chores (in the nicest of ways) to get on with.
  • @Victoria Sponge wonky's the shed.

This is how it was in July when I took over the allotment I have turned him around re-fixed the door but he still insists in being on the lean.   :)

  • Your shed has attitude Hampshire Hog, will he defy the elements?
We managed to get out today, Hurray!  Lovely weather for gardening. OH washed the windows, I planted my new Iceberg rose along with clematis Madame Julia Correvon to train up the willow that we massacred a month or two ago.  Watch this space.....

I also planted out a dozen or so wild flower plants that I had grown on from seed in 3 inch pots, knapweed, teasel, foxgloves, ox eye daisies and ragged robin.  I am hoping they will survive any inclement weather that hits us in the coming few months.

  • Have to agree he really does have a bit of a attitude, when I moved him I put it on a nice level base but he still has this laid back look  :) I always expect to find him collapsed like a deck of cards every time we get a storm.

Still I had a good morning at the allotment got the new shed base down, sssshh don't tell Wonky or may get even more of a complex  :)

And no I wont be getting rid of Wonky in a funny way I have got quite attached to him <3

This was the new look wonky in the summer laid back as ever.
