@alicebenson05 Were you up very early or are you referring to yesterday?? Envy you being able to do some gardening as our weather won't permit it. You would have to be mad to venture out Welcome to the forum by the way. Hope you enjoy
Thanks buddy..!! I am talking about yesterday morning.
I heaped some rotted horse manure around four of the apple trees. I am aiming to heap some around the roses in the front garden, weather permitting tomorrow. OH put some of the surplus top soil on the compost heap which is already partially full of leaves and grass cuttings as well as the usual kitchen scraps and paper/cardboard waste, this heavy layer helps to speed up the process. We don't have lids on our palette built composters.
OH dug more topsoil from our proposed wild flower bank, we are bagging it up to use on another project at a later date. I spread horse manure on and pruned some of the roses this morning.
Stood some pots back up that the wind blew over the other day. Cleared some leaves by front door so postie can see where he is walking. The rest can wait. Cleared up pigeon wing bits the sparrowhawk left on the front lawn. I hoped the wind was going to take them away. Yet again I did not get around to planting a last pack of daff bulbs. It might end up being a new years resolution at this rate.
Not done anything for ages, and not much will be done over Winter now. Will be picking some foliage in morning for wreath and craft making: Fir, Holly, Ivy, and some other evergreen bits I can forage. All my Holly berries have been eaten but they don’t last and I won’t have them around the cats anyway.
Most things done for the time being. Just swept up leaves and tided round. Looking at the forecast, don't think there will be much more done this weekend. According to our local forecaster it will get colder next weekend, so not much done then either by the looks of it.
