This morning I moved a Ruby Red rose, from one bed to another, so I am hopping this will now be in it's permanent bed which has more space and is alongside 3 other rose bushes. I also spread some rotted horse manure around the rhubarb and a couple of plum trees and cut a few inches off our wild flower seed that was sown outdoors in September, it had become too leggy and reading comments on here suggested that the plants will now bulk up ready for growing larger/thicker in the Spring.
Once I had been for my interim service at the doctors this morning it was back to the allotment, have started to lay the paving for the seating area in the scented garden after five hours my back said enough and my belly said feed me so came home nice hot shower and pumpkin soup with crusty bread not at the same time you understand
Forecast is for a showery day tomorrow but if I can avoid them I might try to do some more.
"You don't stop gardening because you get old, you get old because you stop gardening." - The Hampshire Hog
Seems that you had a productive morning Hampshire Hog - same good weather here too this morning although now the sky is cloudy over, however sunshine, no wind or rain for most of the day, we can't ask for more in December.
I planted out a clematis this morning, one of the Raymond Evison plugs that I had grown on from earlier in the year, it was past it's best, so I am hoping that it will take in it's new home against a trellis and the wall of our cottage.
I then chucked some wood chip and manure (not at the same time) on the rose bed, tweaked a few bits and pieces, fed and watched the birds and enjoyed the calm weather.
I erected a plastic fence right round our magnolia stellata tree, to try to stop the dratted pigeons from trampling all over the tiny blue squills and snowdrops that are pushing up thro the mulch - and to stop a neighbours? cat from climbing the tree after the goldfinches and bluetits. The bird feeders hang from the tree so the pigeons hoover up the dropped sunflower seeds. It doesn't look terribly elegant but's only for a few months. Then I did a quick leaf brush (again) over the paving.
Did a couple of hours at allotment this morning , amazed how mild it is , 10 degrees Dug an old strawberry 🍓 bed that we had already cleared , can’t believe how much bind weave roots I got out , was going to cover with horse manure but have decided to dig it again Did a bit of pruning as well Good to get outside for a few hours
I agree with you GWRS - it is good to get outside - it is so mild and although it is very damp, there are still pruning, weeding or digging jobs that can be done. Bindweed is a real menace, luckily we only have it in a small part of our garden (at the moment), so can manage that is in my small wild flower patch and I can keep it under control until about July and then the bindweed takes over and smothers the flowers when they are at their peak.
We continued to remove top soil from the proposed wild flower bank - the soil is too rich for the plants apparently. I pruned, weeded and did odd jobs like bird feeding, sweeping up mess in the conservatory. It was nice to be outside.
G D , bindweed , some body told me this and it works , untwist the stuff and let it run up a bamboo cane , then spray it with weed killer if it is in a bed that can’t be dug up , hope that makes sense This afternoon we have been decorating Christmas Tree and putting a few bit out Begining to feel like Christmas 🎄

Time permitting I might start on the paths.
