Evening all - trying to remember what everyone's said, but I'm on a hiding to nowt... I heard that item on R2 as well Dove. Bl**dy marvellous. When we all sit and mump and moan about our little problems, it's always good to be brought back to earth with a real bump. Hope the weather's kind to him once he gets up there. Been lovely here today after frosts in lots of areas. We just missed it , down to about 1 or 2 degrees, but supposed to get one tonight. Yesterday was pretty vile until later on. Perfect for me this afternoon - about 13 and no wind. I know Hosta...I know..... Physio has given me more exercises and was quite pleased with progress, but says it'll be quite a long time before arm/shoulder's ok. Hey ho - I can still walk - might get out at weekend. I didn't think there was too much caffeine in tea Aunty R. Doesn't keep me awake anyway! My blackthorn is all blossomy just now - the blue tits seem to enjoy picking little bits and bobs of greenfly etc off it. Love seeing them. Small pleasures - but better than gold and diamonds any day
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
I was a big caffeine ‘user’ and I thought I wouldn’t cope but actually it’s been ok! I was advised to limit caffeine and double my water, as part of a tachycardia thing I have - but I find drinking plain water quite tiresome so decaf tea is more appealing. I was reading (or heard on radio?) that very dark chocolate does something to your brain, and produces a similar effect to meditation!! Unfortunately this does not apply to milk confectionary bars - shame!
OH is quite sensitive to caffeine he has decaff tea in the evening or he doesn't sleep well. He has normal tea the rest of the time and maybe one coffee mid morning.
Well, at last I've flagged some of today's Spam
Watching the Britain in Bloom prog ... it's from Oakham near MIL ... know it quite well.
Hiya Fairy glad the arm's improving

I heard that about the chocolate too AuntyR - don't think bars of Cadbury's chocolate qualify unfortunately! Other brands are available..... Thanks Dove. Progress is good. Just been looking at that chap's itinerary - he needs to do the West Highland Way followed by the Great Glen Way, after getting from Land's End up to the north side of Glasgow. I know how tough it is just doing one of those two walks even when you're reasonably fit and able. I've put my hat on so that I can take it off to him. Hope he's got a midgie hood with him though!

I’ve been caffeine free for nearly 2 years now - sends my heart racing in a most disconcerting way. Once you get used to it its dead easy - I carry emergency teabags round with me, but finding that more and more places now have decaff options.
Glad Papa womble is unscathed - hope he is ok in his emotions too - must have been quite a shock.
Very glad that Friday evening is now upon us 🤪🍷......countdown to Monty starts here 🌲🌲🌲 ( for those who can see emojis, those are meant to be fastiagate yews).
Keep meaning to ask Dove, has your amelanchier put on a good show this year?
Chicky, it has been really gorgeous ... the blossom lasted about 10 days ... then it all dropped yesterday and the leaves are opening. I took some pics earlier but I've not downloaded them yet ... I'll try to remember to do it tomorrow.
Think Papa Womble is ok ... as far as I'm aware that's the worst accident he's ever been in although there have been a few near squeaks ... cars and mechanical things aren't his strong point. I remember him once being asked by a Belgian mechanic whether he was trying to murder his wife (me) because what Papa W thought was a knocking wheel joint on the front passenger side was actually a wheel hub nearly off because the nuts hadn't been tightened after a wheel change ... we'd just been driving hell for leather up the motorways in order to catch our ferry at Zeebrugge He's asked our son to find another car for him.

Knew there was something else - glad Papa W is ok Dove. Shakes you up though, even if all is well. Similar happened to someone I work with, although her car was still driveable. She had a terrible time getting the insurance sorted. The other driver's company stalled and stalled, despite their driver causing the accident. Hope PapaW doesn't have any issue with it.

I hope Papa Womble is OK. I think it hits home a few days later, the next time someone does something stupid. OH is still wary of lorries coming up too close behind him. Having seen how his volvo survived a 7.5 tonne lorry in the rear, my next car will be a volvo.
Hope Papa W doesn't have any after effects, scary thing to happen.
We are waiting for OH's daughter, OH and their 2 children, they got stuck in traffic. It's a long drive, they thought they'd be here around 7pm. I've made a huge spag bol but DIL said if the children can't wait they may have to stop en route. They are staying for the weekend. I'd so wanted good weather but it won't be.
Watched The Good Karma Hospital on Catch Up. Been to the butcher and bought 2 sorts of his homemade sausages for tomorrow, pork and leek and hog roast flavour, also a lovely looking joint of topside for Sunday.
Rained most of the day.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Thanks everyone ... I'm sure Wonky will be grateful for your kind messages. Think she's working tomorrow morning (she does alternate Sat. mornings) but she'll probably pop in here sometime over the weekend, especially if the weather doesn't let her do any gardening
