Nice sounding recipe Obelixx. Might give it a try. Got a baking day in the diary on Saturday. Choc cupcakes, blueberry muffins and scones. It's Jonah's 2nd birthday and I'm on cakes for grown ups and Jelly for little ones.
Had a lovely day today with Jonah. A visit to a local garden centre plus a walk round a nature reserve. Lots of ducks to be admired. It's been very warm and sunny.
Hope my plants are ok in the greenhouse. Left doors open and shade netting up but not back until tomorrow evening.
Sorry Mrs P'doc didn't get through the interview. I bet something much better comes along
A bit early maybe, but OH and i have just had a G@T in the summerhouse, and very nice it was too. OH has been asked to stay on in her current post, but has decided that she can't face that, so has given 3 months notice that she is leaving.
How can you lie there and think of England When you don't even know who's in the team
Perfect gardening weather, lots of sun but not too hot.
Completed all of the potting on I wanted to do, lots more seedlings racing to grow big enough to be potted on next week. Counted 5 clusters of flower buds on my pear tree, now I just have to hope there are no Spring gales or late frosts to destroy them. Made a start on weeding the raised beds around the pond, looks like the Beast from the East has killed off some of the rock roses, cat mint and pinks. The dieramas have survived to my surprise. Also the newly planted clematis, I put 4 of them around the base of an obelisk, they are thin, weedy, dead looking sticks but there are new shoots coming. Time will tell if any of the fuschias have survived.
Hi everyone. Just back from a few days in West Wales 🏴 and home to even sunnier skies! I will miss that sea air though - so rejuvenating. I must say the garden has really progressed in this warm weather - buds and shoots aplenty. I hope you are all ok.
Ouch I ache all over! OH cut the grass and we've edged the beds ...I pricked out and potted up the courgette seedlings, cut back the shrubby salvias and ferns and other stuff and did some weeding, dug up some cyclamen seedlings and potted them up, sowed some beetroot and Swiss chard seeds and found the wire netting and pegged it down over the seedbeds ... watering the seeds and lots of other bits and pieces done and a lot of time spent sitting quietly and watching the birds collecting worms and bathing in the birdbath ... a wodge of Gala pie, salad and beer for supper ... a lovely day Hope you've all had a lovely day too ... but hope you don't ache quite as much as I do
Oh, and I nearly forgot to say ... lots of evidence of Hedgehogs back in the garden the feeding station has been spring cleaned and we've stocked up on supplies.
