I hope the storm isn't too bad RG, especially since you've prepared for it.

Love red cabbage. I'm inclined to agree about belly pork with no crackling but I'm hoping that the cider and onions and apples will make up for it and I've decided to treat us to Yorkshire puds since I'm not from Yorkshire and don't need to be a purist about them.
Strong winds and rain tonight, rain all day tomorrow, windy all week, a storm overnight Wednesday, rain and snow showers every day that it doesn't rain continuously. Yuk
We had yorkshires with roast chicken yesterday . OH usually makes double quantities when he does a batch and they freeze and reheat really easily so we have them with all sorts of things you're not supposed to, but I'm not from Yorkshire either so what the hey. There are few meals that can't be made better by a bit of yorkshire pud. How was the pork in cider? Good call when needs must.
Not surprised people are feeling a bit low let alone pdoc and all you have to deal with just now. But as LG the L says, spring is getting closer - garlic and elephant garlic are all showing now in the garden, the magnolia buds are fattening up, there are quite a few windblown daffs in full bloom. How were things at the allotment GWRS? Any signs of life to give us all hope?

Pork was very tender and tasty RG. I shall probably do it again - with crackling!
We're expecting a bit of wind and a bit of wet but nothing major. Local forecasts not very accurate so far so we'll see. I suspect we all have some winter still to come before spring really gets going. I always found Feb worse to get thru than January.

Yes true, it's a good thing February is short really. It's often dreary, frequently the coldest month of the year. The only thing it has going for it is the light is increasing noticeably.
Glad the pork turned out well

Obelixx - the baby can generally be pacified by a trip in the pram, preferably on a bumpy pavement, when there's nothing on the "food, wind, bum, cuddle" checklist which appears to work. I think he finds it hard to switch off & go to sleep sometimes. They've bought him a "Ewan" sheep which has a faint pink light, supposed to replicate what a baby in the womb can see, combined with "white noise" or womb sounds or soothing music. Hope it works!
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
Possum was never a great sleeper but generally responded well to cuddles until she could sit up by herself and then it seemed she would fight sleep in case she missed something. I'd end up taking her for a drive which usually worked. Still does.

We’re in Canberra in the waiting room at the Endodontist. Overcast and cardigan weather. Crazy.
Catching up with our son for lunch then visiting daughter the other side of Canberra, which is on the way home for us. No shopping planned.
Our daughter has asked if we can mind Jessie, her toy poodle, for a week over the Australia Day long weekend etc. it’ll probably re-awken feelings for our late little darling, but it’ll be lovely to have her for a while. She’s a sweetie.
I can’t get Hosta out of my mind, but I know he’ll be handling it the best way he can.
I hope those of you in Scotland are ok with thevweather.

Hello everyone.
What a terrifying thing to happen to Hosta! I hope you can still enjoy the rest of your holiday despite that. At least it's not cold.
Thanks for the Cromer tips,Dove.
Good to hear from you, Topbird.
We went to see the pantomime of The Sleeping Beauty in Norwich today, very funny and lively. Had lunch at Côte Brasserie first.
By the way - the DVD we watched - Dunkirk.

Howling wind here. Two bins blown over and lids banging on the other two.
LP - hope it's a bit quieter with you inland.
