LG - sounds like a lovely evening. I think wind farms are expensive, inefficient and seriously bad for wildlife. There is a significant increase in the number of dead bats and birds found in their vicinity and they're a disaster if on the path of migrating birds. Then there's the effect on humans - headache and stomach problems form the hum and vibrations. Visual problems form the stroboscopic effect on sunny days. The WHO reckons there should be a minimum distance between them and any housing but it is too often ignored.
I like iris foetidissima too and the teeny petals on hamamelis that you have to really look at to appreciate.
Hosta - snap. Broken coffee pot here. Fortunately we have two machines - one for leaded for mornings and one for decaff for pms so we can cope till we get a new one. Kind of you cleaner to find another for you. How's the tan coming along?
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

Good to hear from you Hosta - glad you're still enjoying yourselves now that the teapot catastrophe has been remedied.
Lovely pic LG I too love those 'insignificant' flowers that are so beautiful when you look at them properly. Most of my paintings are what I call 'a ladybird's eye view' .... an up close view of a small piece of a plant, painted large ... anything from a 1x1m to 2.5 x 1.5m canvas although the largest ones are few and far between. Not sure if I've got any photos of any that I can put on here ... have to be careful copyright-wise of ones that haven't been exhibited yet ... the wwweb can be a tricky place for artists ... I may be able to make some copies of pics in catalogues .... leave it with me ...
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
We are going in February and will stay overnight, hoping to explore the area the next day.
As I have probably mentioned before, we try to go to 1 or 2 really special restaurants each year. I have a big birthday this year and we are planning on going to Gleneagles for that.
Glad holiday is going well Hosta.
How can you lie there and think of England When you don't even know who's in the team
Oh yes of course Obelixx, but it's a good while since I did either ( I've only been doing small stuff and drawings etc these last few years) and what with losing a load of files when a computer fried its innards a few years ago, I only have old 'slides' or photos in the catalogues.
Here are a couple .... hope they're not too blurry
'by Willsthorpe bridge' 170cm x 170cm oil on canvas
'like a red red rose' 79cm x 53 cm oil on canvas (in a private collection in Australia)
It's not really possible to show the surface detail ... it's quite complex ... but it gives you an idea

Morning all.
Very foggy here as forecast.
Obelixx - I wonder why more money isn't invested in tidal power as opposed to wind farms.
LG, yes that’s our place.
Home sweet home, as they say.
Morning all.
Thanks LG. Will be leaving in a couple of hours.
When are you going Punkdoc? They seem to have a waiting list and a 12 - 15 course menu!
Very pretty photo, Pat, looks much greener than I thought at this time of year.
I slept badly and couldn't get to sleep until about 2am, was cold, but it wasn't any colder than usual, wore a cardigan.

Hi all.
Murky and grey again.
We are going in February and will stay overnight, hoping to explore the area the next day.
As I have probably mentioned before, we try to go to 1 or 2 really special restaurants each year. I have a big birthday this year and we are planning on going to Gleneagles for that.

Good plan Pdoc. Expect there's some interesting railway history to see, being the first place to have a passenger and freight train service and all.
That tasting menu will be tiny portions with explosions of flavour. Enjoy!
Dove - do you not take pics of your work before you exhibit or sell? I would.
Busy - hope no lurgies are lingering and that you have a good trip.
