Sounds like you're enjoying yourself Liri, if a bit domestic! Red cabbage can be braised gently with apples and some spices according to taste and then frozen in batches. Lots of recipes for exact quantities on BBC Food and BBC Good Food websites. It's also good in cole slaw and my sweet and sour red salad if you want the recipe. Lasts for a week or more in the fridge so good for lunches.
I have successfully frozen Savoy cabbage just by shredding and then bunging in freezer bags. To cook it, put a knob of butter and a spoonful or two of water in the bottom of a pan, add the cabbage with s&p and maybe some rosemary or sage or caraway and then steam lightly till just tender. Keeps its colour and texture and flavour.
On a trip to Donegal with 4 of Possum's Belgian friends we needed 2 cars and OH had the one with the satnav which, of course, went wrong. I called him Stupid Boy which the chaps in my car thought was a bit odd till Possum explained about Dad's Army but, as they've never seen it they don't get it. However, they do now use the term themselves. I've recorded a couple of episodes for when they come and visit here.
Possum was Blob before she became Possum. Very round baby on mum's best double cream - or so the nurse said at the baby clinic.
The base of the pond is solid clay so it doesn't leak but it has no natural feed apart from rain and a pipe from the rear roofs.

I use Delia's recipe for red cabbage - slowly braised in the over with sliced onions, chopped apple, a sprinkle of spices and garlic and a glug of vinegar. It freezes well and is easy to reheat.

Back from the GP practice all wired up with a 24 hour BP monitor ... the first reading was sky high ... no wonder really with it having taken nearly 40 minutes to do a 10 minutes journey due to an accident on the A47 funnelling all the traffic up the road between here and the doctors ... anyway OH returned my library books for me while I was being fitted up and then we came home via Norwich Art Supplies to pick up some canvas and bits and bobs so the time was spent usefully.
Now for some tidying, knitting, cooking etc .......

When OH had his BP monitoring done it wasn't wired up. I had to measure and record his BP morning and evening and then just give her the list when we returned the machine. He too proved to be a "high in presence of GP" chap but it was too high even so. Down to 12/8 now he's retired and relaxed but they still keep him on low dose beta thingies cos of his genetic disposition but I think it's diet related in his siblings and mum.
Is OH the artist or do you dabble too? Between the tidying, knitting and cooking? Meant to ask how the boyfriend cardi is coming along. I had visions of it being a cardi for the boyfriend but it seems not so am intrigued.
I have just sewn the facing and collar on Possum's new blouse.
Iron should be hot enough to press it now before I tackle buttonholes, sleeves, cuffs and hem. Hope you get a result with your machine Busy.

A new mother has thanked a lorry driver who carried her car over a flooded causeway while she was in labour.
Kelly Brinkman was in labour and waiting for 3ft 6ins deep (1.2m) sea water to recede on The Strood Causeway from Mersea Island, Essex.
Justin Tacey, 45, offered to put her car on his lorry and drive across.
Mr Tacey inched through the rising tide to get her on the road to hospital, where her breech baby girl was delivered by Caesarean section.
Ms Brinkman and partner Paolo Pereira had driven to different places to get off the island last Thursday but were prevented by the high tide.
Ms Brinkman said: "I am just so grateful to Justin. He probably saved the baby's life because she was in a breech position and well on her way. The only way to save her was a Caesarean section.
"We have named her Lillie. She is now fine but always hungry and joins her sister Olivia."

Mr Tacey, who works for Emmitt Plant at Diss in Norfolk, said he had been on the island making a delivery and was waiting for the coastguard to let him cross back over the causeway.
"I noticed a man looking panicky on the phone and we got chatting," he said.
"He said his partner was in labour and he was worried as it looked like a long wait for the tide to go down."
Mr Tacey said he spoke to the coastguard team and suggested he could carry the couple's Ford Kuga through the water on the back of his lorry.
"It took about five minutes to cross the half mile causeway slowly and carefu

I don’t envy you with the monitor Dove. Ive done it twice, and both times really irritated me. Still, it’ll be off tomorrow.
Yes, I return it tomorrow and then go to another clinic for a mammogram .... I know how to enjoy myself
