Those are beautiful Dove. Clever you. I love the detail on the geranium and the warmth of tones in the rose. Very textural. I can practically feel the petals.
We have accomplished our ma missions today - cleaning and shopping. Found fabric for Possum's jammies and 2 more blouses then headed to the SM where OH cleverly left our "club" card a the separate part that sells coffee pots - 28€ for a new pot for the old machine or 24.90 for a whole new machine with a pot. By the time we got to the cash desk of the main shop and he realised what he'd done they'd sent it to the reception desk who hadn't yet received it - all of 25 metres away!
OH is getting to be a bit of an airhead about anything not golf.
DL - the pond is now full up to its first shelf. I'll take a new pic when it's light again tomorrow. Bit murky now.
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

Ooh Dove they are very very (very) much up my street . Would love to see the texture better - they look like watercolour, probably because of being photos of reproductions.
Another day not gardening, grrr. Got a few indoor chores done, went to change into gardening clothes and as I did so, looked out of the window at the rain coming down . If I'd already been out there I might have just put up with it, but couldn't face getting started in the rain.

Thanks Dove. Amazing work. I imagine it wasn’t easy to get those shadows on the rose.
Thanks Pat
The blue painting is based on drawings of a Meadow Cranesbill (Geranium pratense) I found growing by the bridge

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Dove, most of us don't take the time to look at plants/flowers in fine detail but it's very rewarding when we do.

I spent my childhood playing in hedgerows and ditches ... face to face with plants ... looking them in the eye so to speak.
