Best wishes to Lilyp and hubby for a quick recovery from this flu you’re all talking about. I hope it doesn’t come here next winter like it did last year. This new one sound severe.

    Time for sleep.

LilyP ... sadly we were presented with a fait accompli ...  the decision had been made,  the lease wasn't renewed and the fixtures and fittings were sold off image  At least redundancy pay has been forthcoming ...

Just had an unexpected flying visit from son who appears to have recovered from his awful 'flu ... the jabs that OH and I had must've worked as we spent several days with him when he was really ill, whereas his business partner who didn't have the jab and spent one evening with him and is now laid low with it ... he is so bad that he's not allowed to fly back from Barcelona where he's been working image

Dove I am so sorry that must be terribly frustrating for all involved. Is it sold as a going concern? So glad your son has made a full recovery  I think being 27 is holding me back  GP said if we hadn’t had the jab we would be much worse   Doesn’t bear thinking about

been out a couple of times for a breath of air but didn’t last more than a couple of minutes. Do I remember many forum members having a nasty bug last year? In fact did Punk not crack a rib coughing? It’s the coughing that’s the worst part. Anyone with any tips? I have tried the hot lemon honey etc.

Nope ... the first the employees heard was that the owner had not renewed the lease so there wasn't even a business to sell ... image think it was more work and not as much fun as they'd thought it would be

We went to Cromer today, on the North coast. I thought it would be like a posh Great Yarmouth, but it wasn't. It was a small seaside town with no shops like M&S or chain restaurants. We had a light lunch and cups of tea in a tea room and a stroll about. We had thought of a bracing walk on the beach, but the tide was up so the sea was almost at the wall so there was no beach to walk on. Walked along the pier instead, that was pretty bracing. Much colder by the sea than in our inland village.

Sorry you are suffering with the 'flu, Lily P. You said "Do I remember many forum members having a nasty bug last year? In fact did Punk not crack a rib coughing? It’s the coughing that’s the worst part. Anyone with any tips?" I had a dreadful cough bug this time last year, thought I'd cracked a rib but I'd torn the tissue encasing the ribs, very painful though, but healed quicker than an actual broken rib. Nothing really worked for the cough, unfortunately, except time.
