    Evening, Pat.

Hosta, how cool it would be to return to the same place on holiday in a few years and find the nursery up and running and stuffed with cannas.

Dove, your health checks are catching (or maybe the NHS read my previous comment...) - just had an appointment through for a mammogram. It'll be my second and I'm not even 50 yet. Part of a study. I'm not complaining.

Obelixx I hope that this year you can isolate the culprit for your bites and guard against them.

Soggy out but I'm determined to get some stuff done. Gardening clothes on, list written. But will I actually get my rear end in gear?

OH is funny.  He's finally been for a hearing test and tells me he doesn't have a hearing problem.  He has age related hearing loss - which is definitely a problem for me.  He also now has a fancy new hearing aid so I hope not to have to repeat myself all the time.

When he first had them tested in Gembloux a couple of years ago they told him he had "man's hearing" - genetically programmed not to hear women's pitch and tone!

Obelixx - good luck with your OH and the hearing aid.

OH refused to wear a digital one as "it made everything too noisy" compared to his NHS one.

Good morning , my o/h got me to have a hear test a couple of years ago and they confirmed it was ok

    Perhaps I didn’t hear what she saying because I was 2 , 3 rooms away !

    Off to Lincoln today

    Morning all.

Slow typing as I have a sleeping baby occupying my right arm... could put him down, I suppose, but I'll be going home tomorrow so I'm taking advantage of cuddling time.  image

Today I'm trying to make more food for the dazed young parents.  There's not a lot of room left in the freezer now, which is good!  A big batch of Bolognese-type sauce can be made into lots of different meals for them to prepare quickly - and I was in the middle of making a cabbage-based salad (coleslaw with extras) when I was handed a baby.

Hope OH finds the hearing aid suits, Obelixx.  It's a shame people are resistant to trying them; we don't, fortunately, have the same prejudice against glasses...

Good luck with the propagation lesson, Hosta!

Your paintings are really interesting, Dove.  Thanks for giving us a "peek".  image

Morning all. Frosty this morning but forecast has promised it will warm up to 5 or 6 this afternoon!

Been power-washing the driveway the last couple of days, as it had become quite slippy. I couldn't believe the difference once done! The patio will be next - we usually do this as one of the first early Spring jobs.

Hope everyone is doing ok - check in later.

We're back home ... we made an early start as we had a trip into the city for paint and stuff and then the s'market for food as OH is no longer at the farm shop which has closed image

It was really foggy out there first thing.

While at the art supplies shop we bumped into an old college friend we've not seen for a goodly while ... have swapped mobile numbers and will be meeting up for a drink ... great to see him

Now all the shopping is put away, the fog has lifted, the sky is blue and it's a lovely day ... just grab some lunch then back in the studio ....

Closed, shut, finished, finito .......... OH has been made redundant .......... think running a shop and having to go there occasionally got in the way of the owner's social life

I may be being a trifle harsh image.... but the owner didn't make any effort  .... it was a good business with loyal and capable staff and a good regular customer base but you have to keep working to promote a business ... standing still  while everyone else is going forwards results in you going backwards ........ I'm so angry ... but there's no point ... onwards and upwards ... at least he has more time to paint until he finds something else ...

That doesn't sound good Dove.  Apart form loss of income here's all the lovely stuff you could buy there.  What will the producers do now?   Good tho to meet an old friend and catch up.

We're just back from the farmer neighbours, full of home-made Pineau and nibbles.   Good chat about goings on and their farm and grandkids and so on.   Nice people.

Coffee now and then I have to sew.  Straight I hope with only intended curves.

So please Trump has decided not to open the new USA embassy.   What a pillock he's been now, tho he's denying it.  Of course.

My turmeric has arrived.  "Take with food" so starting at dinner tonight.  Not sure liquid lunch counts.
