It's a crying shame Obelixx ... it was a thriving business when the owner bought it 'cos the previous chap was retiring.  image

Dove- didn't the new owner have a "hands off" approach to the business?

I don't know what it is DL.  I just get itchy pink lumps.  Have taken antihistamine and applied cream and am about to put in a diffuser to kill any peskies in the bedroom so I don't get anymore tonight.

  • Working overtime with the bird feeders ....we have five out at the moment ....a lot of competition .....not really a great photographer but trying .....we bought this 20K bag a week or so ago ...will need another soon ....  we see that some of the birds are very aggressive and try to hog the feeder.....like the one in the second  pic....hangs around like he owns the place and shoos everyone else away ....so some like the ones on the ground just take what falls ...........

Ours are quite busy too and I ran out of peanuts and there have been none in the SMs lately so I asked OH to have a look in France Rurale after his hearing test.  They were 10€ a bag so he decided that was expensive and didn't buy them.   Miserable git.  They've been that price for ages.    Good job I have supplies of fat balls and sunflower seeds.

Just seen a bit of the One Show while cooking dinner.  They've got 3 chaps giving up alcohol for January.  Apparently, when sober, the find people in the pub boring.   Since when did we need a drink to be interesting? or funny?

Hello, from Norfolk. Journey yesterday was OK, apart from the usual accident on the A11. A lorry, a white van and 2 cars this time, hope they were OK.

We went to Tesco this afternoon, mostly for food. Such a huge choice of veg in English supermarkets and loads of yummy cakes and creamy things. Had to resist a lot.

Then I had the 'flu jab in Boots. I bled afterwards, he said they hadn't been taught to withdraw the plunger a little bit to make sure the needle wasn't in a blood vessel. It stung quite a bit, reminded me of a wasp.

Then GC on the way home to get some grease balls for the birds, buy 2 packs get one free, and violas - which they didn't have. The ones I planted in autumn have been eaten by something, but the ones I had last year were lovely and flowered for ages. Maybe they'll have some in B&Q.

Have been sewing patchwork squares in front of the TV, for the curtain we are putting in front of the church door to keep out the draft.

So sorry to hear about the farm shop, Dove. I hope your OH finds somewhere he would like to work soon.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
