It's an area of significance for me Joyce. Hopefully the knees wil be good for a few more hills yet
I've just been out watching the bats while it was still light enough to see them. Two of them having a great time flitting round the garden, often only a few feet from the back door. Yesterday evening I spent ten minutes watching a young dunnock explore - picking at things in the grass, and trying to work out how to get in the pond for a paddle. He eventually worked it out and then spent a while carefully preening himself before going back in for a second bath. Simple pleasures
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Well spotted mate......you know what happens when friends and relatives.....(why do we always put friends first .....is it just me) see that you like something....e.g. I have a frog soft toy called Shaun who has been with me for yonks .....when my Russian friends and relatives (you see) first saw this I have been receiving freaking frog presents for ever.......so back to the spoons Chey.....yep we bought some china spoons in an auction a few years ago....hence the two lovey-dovey ones in our kitchen ....not from the auction but from some very well meaning friends and relatives (Ohh) who have no freaking idea what to buy us
Hello fairy, Joyce and everyone. Lovely to read everyone's posts. Lovely photos Fairy on the camera thread. I'm trying to stay awake, will no doubt nod off again since it's only 7.45 am. No hurry to get out there into a cold morning. I have managed to get a load into the washing machine. By the time I drag myself out, it should be all done and ready to hang out. Isn't modern technology wonderful.
Simple but satisfying My daughter and I sat out watching the birds at the feeders in between working in the garden. She said that, with working long hours, she puts out the bird food but seldom has the opportunity just to sit and enjoy seeing them.
Did you get back to sleep for a while earlier Pat?
I use a timer on the washing machine sometimes - it's quite handy if it's going to be good day and you can get two loads out, one out before I go to work, and then daughter does one when we come home for lunch
I'll do the rest of the pix tomorrow if I get a chance. Glad you enjoyed them. It was a grand walk, and I was very lucky with weather - not too much rain, and the wind was better than predicted. All the surrounding hills were in clag down to about 2,000 feet pretty much all day, apart from a couple of the neighbouring Mamores.
Bed for me now I think. Night all

Sounds as though poor Nanny Beach is going through a really bad patch. I hope the conservatory gets finished properly and her Doc/surgeon gets rid of her health problems.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Assuming you're all asleep now. We had another couple of hours sleep this morning until a phone call woke us up. Washing is out, but it's windy so I have to keep going out and unwinding shirts. We'll probably go to town for our weekly shopping later, but no real hurry.
i had a wander past my flower bed in front of the house to inspect the bulbs which are sending buds up. I think I need to have a little talk to a particular Wallaby about the jonquil buds which were nearly open yesterday. They have disappeared. Leaves only left. I guess I could thank her for fertilising the garden and flattening some of the weeds.
Just been over to open the greenhouse door (although the forecast says the tomato plants stand no chance of overheating today ) only two discover 2 deer (Mum and baby) had breached the defences and were in ourveg patch . Someone had left the gate open . After some frantic bounding around they remembered the way in and scarpered away. They have pruned our stepover pears, and the leaves off the lower branches of the standard fruit trees, but thankfully had not got any further. Gate now tied shut with baler twine, just in case they have found a way of opening said gate

Morning all and afternoon Pat.
Pat, I remember seeing your jonquil last year, the start of your spring flowers.
I've been perusing bulb catalogues and have started a wish list.
Rain has started......garden needs a few hours only then it can stop.

Chicky, you have a constant battle there. I couldn't believe how they they had stripped your hostas.
