The Dr didnt put the wind up me Dove, I have a lesion on my back, knew it needed looking at, (because of what it was doing) went to a "Watch your back" free skin/mole check, endorsed by a lot of our fav gardeners, Charlie and Alan to name a few.  I saw a Dr and then the actual consultant wo has given me a letter for my GP saying what he reckons it is, to start the ball rolling.  Hubby had a BBC removed from his face last year, for a few months was a tiny "sore", which would heal then breakout again, he saw a Dermatologist, then while waiting the 6 weeks for the op it started moving very quickly, he had to have a big chunk removed including part of his lip. I kept nagging him to get it looked at.  Our lovelly (young) consultant died last year from a melenoma.

Big hugs and sympathy to all who need it especially NB and Chicky and DL.

Been to the vet this morning for annual doggy jabs and a year's supply of worming and flea stuff.   Both dogs on best drama queen performance as, while I was away fetching Possum, he developed a dew claw problem and she got some nasty insect bites on her elbow.  What a performance!

He advised us that the best time to give worming pills is at the full moon as it is more effective.   OK.

Got back to find my shade bed positively wilting despite recent showers so the sprinkler is on to rescue it.   Might need a re-think if this drought goes on much longer.

Off to La Roche-s-Y to order tiles for our new showroom while Poss does her thing at the gym and then maybe a visit to the chocolate museum tho what they'll have to tell me that I don't already know after 25 years in Belgium I don't know.

Perhaps I phrased it badly NannyB ... I'm sorry ... I wasn't being dismissive ... I knew about your lesion and I of all people know how important it is to get these things seen to ... my son has had several lumps removed as have I, and my brother has had two nasty ones  removed, and my niece had a melanoma removed in her early twenties, leaving a hole you could put an orange in.

I'm sorry if it felt that I wasn't taking your concerns seriously ... what I was saying is that we can only deal with so much 'stuff' at once, but I wasn't suggesting that you ignore it ... what I mean is that you do what you have to do to trigger what has to happen and then you 'put it in the box and put the lid down' until you have to do something else with it.

It is so easy to carry all your worries around in your head and then you can't deal with anything properly and you just feel out of control and that's when panic sets in.

Do what has to be done then put it in a box.  ((hugs))   and if you need to rant and unload ... we are here.

How are the builders getting on today?

Afternoon all. Just had an hour pottering in garden and now watching tennis, with kitten cwtches.

Busy - what a special idea to take garden flowers  - I love that as so personal and unique.

Always sad to hear of other's sadness with illness, loss and bereavement. Isn't it wonderful that we have our gardens as therapy and tonic.

My garden and I live in South Wales.

Oh, no dont worry Dove I didnt think you werent taking things seriously, sometimes its easier to "talk" to a stranger, my oldest Daughter freaks out, my youngest has enough problems of her own at the moment (none of which were caused by her!) I know they removed a huge area for a melenoma, Hubby was shocked enough at how much they removed from him.  It was explained, the dermatologist didnt think it would scar, but as I say it started getting bigger very quickly, the surgeon, who was lovelly also explained how much they would remove, as did I, but he was shocked when he saw his face.So I have been his sounding board for all his anxieties the last few weeks re the building, which is wearing.  I am carer for my youngest son who has Rapid cycling bipolar, my oldest son also has serioues mental health problems, and the trouble is, you cant see them, its not like a broke leg (no pun intended!) I was a bag of nerves all week before I saw the consultant.  Boss has made site visit, work carrying on.Thinking of going out plant hunting!!
