Golly gosh, is it four years since you moved there Fairy?  It only seems like yesterday.

Sorry, didn't I explain ......... although move has been delayed until 24th August (ish) the house needed a serious sort out ... since marriage break up stuff has just been put in cupboards and left  ... remember he and ex ran a business from home ... he didn't have the heart to sort it ... it needed someone who could harden her heart a bit, so after he and I had talked through what to do with various categories of 'stuff' he went off to work and a friend of his and I turned out two big walk-in cupboards (think small rooms) that were full to the ceiling with 'stuff'.   We filled the skip ... another skip is coming tomorrow.  His friend is going to go again on Thursday ... he says he'll be fine without me.  I'll go again next Tuesday (ish) and then that'll be most of it done ... bar the furniture and precious stuff.

Now I'm home, am the right side of a large G&T and am just about to eat a delicious smelling supper prepared by OH image

I think I've caught the z"Hosta habit".  Awake at 4am. Very rare for me.

A job well done Dove.    Having a skip makes clearing out a lot easier.

Job well done indeed, Dove. It can be tricky in those sorts of circumstance. Easier for someone close but detached enough (you!) to get stuck in.

Yes - bit more than four years here now. The garden's changed quite a bit in that time. I'll just be getting it the way I want when it'll be time to retire - and then I'm off - up north to the hills  image

Dacha - I doubt if you've upset anyone, so don't worry. Sometimes it's good to share too, isn't it? image

Love that big oven you have - could cook for a big old load of folk on there  image

NBeach - I think Obelixx's advice is spot on. Don't give them a penny until you're totally satisfied.

Weird sort of day here. It never really cleared, even though it brightened up late afternoon, and is doing the same now. At least the temp went up a bit during the day to about 16 or so. Quite pleasant out there - got  a few more jobs done before the rain comes back tonight/tomorrow. I like a bit of tidying and deadheading  image

Dove ....breakups are always so hard ....I had two major ones in my life until I finally found the love of my life 20 years ago ....there were gaps between them which were a bit crazy ....

    Fairy ....thanks once again ......

We are back in Moscow after a horrendous journey with some not so nice accidents ......as usual I am the provider .....don't know what the hell I am making here image

Fairy..."moving up north".....I hope you win the lotteryimage Friend's niece was looking to buy a small cottage in Skye but prices were sky high and outwith her reach although she had sold a large house in Wales.

However with your building and woodworking skills....image

Mainland Joyce - possibly Ullapool or somewhere in that vicinity, although I have a bit of time still to make up my mind image

Mind you - there was an earthquake near Ullapool on Sunday morning! image

Skye would be very expensive I'd imagine  image

Fairy, Ullapool area would be ideal. It's lovely up there and, with the ferry you have easy access to do a walking tour of the islands when your knees no longer cope with the hills..........a long way off yet.image
