Cromer sounds lovely, Dove. I've never been; we got to know Norfolk a bit when our daughter was at Norwich School of Art, but not that area. I love Norwich, though it took a while to realise I was getting lost walking round it because the roads didn't meet at right angles - typical of a mediaeval town, I suppose.
Mr Sod has arranged that my late strawberries are ripening now, together with blueberries and raspberries. We are also inundated with sugar peas. So the neighbours who are feeding our cat while we're in Buxton have been primed to help themselves... the 5-year-old lad will probably eat more than he brings indoors, but who cares! They don't have a garden themselves so it will be a bit of a novelty.
Right. Need to wash, dry and freeze the raspberries I picked earlier... they'll be lovely in the winter in a pavlova.
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
Cromer is lovely ... wide sandy beaches and rock pools, lots of history and interesting architecture, plus of course the famous lifeboat and the two famous and heroic coxwains Henry Blogg and Shrimp Davies
Traditional shopping ... shops with ladies' vests and winceyette nighties, as well as men's nightshirts ... and a gentlemen's outfitters called 'Dapper Chaps' and the fabulous Hotel de Paris.

I got all "the big bit" of grass cut today even though parts of the ground were a bit squishy after yesterday's rain.
Just been chatting to Hubby. He's staying with a lovely old girl ( 85. is that old? ) They're watching Love your garden. I told him to remind her that GW is on tonight. He did and she said " Oh , not Monty Don, he's too slimey. He gives me the creeps. Maybe Carol will come on and save the day"
Bless 'er. I knew I loved her.
I'm avoiding LyG as I'm bored with the " let's have a nice back story and make everyone cry at the end " format. I feel it's become a little exploitative these days, DIY SoS is the same now.
Mrs Canada Goose and the 3 babies were half way up the garden this evening when suddenly they all took off and flew down to the lake. It's the first time I've seen the babies take flight. They're now almost as big as Mum.
Joanna Lumley in India will be recorded for weekend watching with Hubby when he's home.
GW for me, news headlines and then off to bed for me.
Clari ... Cromer is definitely 'dog friendly' .... loads of lovely dogs to be see there ... not on the central beach in the main season of course, but walking on the prom is fine ... and lots of doggy meetings and making friends takes place there ... and it's not far until you get past the dog free zone.

and then there's the crab fishermen who go out in their little boats to get the Cromer crabs

I haven't been to cromer for years.
In fact so many years I might have been single when I last went.
Might need to find a dog friendly place for after the school holidays!

Oh, forgot to mention , I had a phone call to-days asking for a Landlord's reference for our ( soon to be ex ) tenants.
I'm looking forward to the place being empty for a wee while before we get new folk in.
Daughter has come back up for a few days
Hope our goof weather continues while she is here.
