Pat , you really should write a book ....everything sounds feral there .....hope you don't go native
Hosta, know how you feel , we had to get the bailiffs in to rid ourselves of our tenant ....who on the face of it looked charming .....paid the rent bang on time every month.....she drove the poor neighbors crazy with wild parties....when we finally got shut of her she took some very special pieces of furniture with her , left cigarette burns in the carpet , which we had replaced before she moved in .....I was actually going to start a lawsuit until I was told to just leave it .....the deposit did not cover a fraction of what she did !
I would like to add that we are not property developers et al ....we have this one special place in the UK .....and we are even thinking of not letting .....but then again some squatters may hear about it and move in ....and they have more rights than any of us
B3...that sounds like a hair raising or lowering experience .....there are some very secret establishments not too far from where we live so much so that it was even blocked out to Google Earth maps .....intriguing stuff eh
Dove .....once again ...good luck with the move
NB , hope all goes well....fingers crossed for you
NB - send a perfectly cool but polite email to shed man explaining the difference between glazing bar and glazing sheet and stating you had said very clearly "bar!". Do not pay any of that conservatory bill till you're satisfied it's all done satisfactorily and tell them so. Should concentrate their minds.
Busy - re piano keyboard - yes, so we're off to Nantes for the day on Friday to try out keyboards and visit the Japanese garden.
Cheyn - yes, La Rochelle is an hour to the south of us.
We have been and booked Harry in for a check as Possum and I think his brake pads are squealing all the time. Cloth ears can't hear it but has bowed to female pressure. Been to buy MPC for conditioning the wisteria bed. It'll probably faint but the bulbs will need it to do well and I can water with impunity of Possum and Cloth Ears go surfing.
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.
"The price good men (and women) pay for indifference to public affairs is to be ruled by evil men (and women)."
Hey Lily! No holidays here (I don't work on a Monday). We havent gotten Reggie a playmate yet. I keep seeing some beautiful dogs out there but I think OH has cooled to the idea.
Dove & Nanny; the ear is pain free! Unless I sneeze but for a torn ear drum that's probably not so bad. I'm on week two of the antibiotics so hopefully all the nasties have gone.
Nanny; I'm in Yorkshire but last night while not cold just felt... grim and damp. I find a hot water bottle really soothing.
Oberlix , enjoy your garden trip , we went with local gardening club to a Japanese Garden near Newark ,found it very interesting , amazing how they had twisted trees ? etc
Obelixx will do, have been onto conservatory company as soon as I got the post, and said just that. I am sooo not in the mood for this now, was reasonably happy when I went to the Gp, just come back from blood tests, they couldnt get any had 3 goes, have got to go back in the morning, wouldnt say what they were testing for! Hubby didnt have blood tests when he had a BCC, so that doesnt bode well.
Fairy ....as I am new on here I really don't know where to post pics .....this thread seems to be where it is all happening .....all down to Dove I suppose.....
You can post photos anywhere Dacha - don't worry! It's just nice to have some variety on the camera thread with landscapes and sunsets and that kind of thing. B.Lizzie often posts some beautiful ones of her travels and the architecture where she lives, Pat posts all sorts of landscapes from Oz, and GuernseyDonkey posts lovely seascapes etc. It's for anything that isn't specific to our gardens/plants which we can put on the Garden Gallery thread, and lets us see other people's surroundings
Lovely pix too Cheyn - nice when you can make something attractive from a difficult area.
LP - agricultural shows go on till September, but we do all sorts of events, not just those. Dog shows, dog training, budgies, alpacas, political parties - you name it , we do it! We have customers all over the country and some abroad as well. We did a little set of rosettes for a teacher in a primary school recently. It was a sewing class and it was to reward the children for all their efforts.
Hosta - I hope you get some sort of progress. It's been a real trial for you
Do you think Dove will be a bit weary by now? I've not moved for four years now, having moved 5 or 6 times in four years - getting to be quite settled for the time being!
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

I've been on holiday to Il D'Olerón many times Obelixx!
That's a bit further down from us. Like the Ile de Ré, it's a place we shall visit at our leisure either side of July and August........
