Dove, it'll go in the "pools" in the polytunnel now, and I'll be able to split it over the winter.

It has a small bud on it now. I photograph it when it opens.

Pat - there's a "translation" charge every time a credit card is used abroad, even if it's kept in credit.

Pdoc - In Belgium we did both ours at least once before the autumn frosts set in so the chassis, axles and wheel arches got their protective coating to help against salt and grit and then again mid winter and mid spring to top up protection.    Worked a treat and we never had rust problems whereas one of my scientists who thought 17€ for the full works was excessive ended up having to buy a new car when his 4yr old Megane failed its first MOT for serious rust.    Here, the car washes are much simpler and offer no undercarriage protection and I have yet to see anyone offering a personalised service.  I hope she was getting tips at least.

Staying cool here which is lovely but very dry.   Had to go and water the herb patch as it was wilting, lavenders, sages, thymes and a rosemary all floppydoodah.  Not good.   All 150 red onions have frazzled and the squashes are struggling.   Sweetcorn and brassicas seem OK but the only things thriving are my toms, still in pots so watered almost daily.

OH has ordered the Beth Chatto book for me but I'm going to need serious loads of horse poo to sort things out in the potager.

That water lily looks lovely Hosta.

Thanks Obelixx. It was just a thought. He has great confidence in American Express, but since we don't know how things go in reverse, best we leave  it Chicky to sort I guess.

In bed and eager to get some sleep now. imageimage

    Sweet dreams Pat image

28.7C in the shade in the back garden, and very muggy ... I've opened windows at the front and doors at the back and hopefully a through draught will make it more comfortable to sit indoors.

    Shame Wimbledon's over ...........

OH is watching the Tour de France Dove.  Just a thought.

I'm pinning out a summer frock for Possum and have come in the living room to check her back waist measurement and she's comatose on a sofa.  Clearly this surfing lark is exhausting.   Both dogs flaked out in sympathy.

Plenty of breezes here so I've closed doors to stop tissue paper flying..........

You don't think they've been sneaking off with her do you?

Looks like we're going to have to keep our heads down for the next couple of days

That's a cracking photo Dove but somehow I can't see our pair doing that.  Bonzo was spooked by wave movement and noise when we took him along the beach last year - clearly doesn't know what Labradors were bread for - so will need plenty pf practice before he even gets close enough to wet his toes.

Frock cut out now and ready to sew.

    Mind your head.

Very overcast. Hope the forecast of early evening rain and thunder comes and clears the air.
