Bad night for me between churning tum and snoring OH and nose-butting Cosmos.  Finally dropped off around dawn.     Woken up by angry squeaking from a very cross and frightened shrew.  Minstrel has clearly decided Cosmos needs to practise with live bait and not corpses.  Had me and Possum diving under and over furniture to remove both kittens and Rasta doggy who came to play too and then catch and release the shrew.

Just had some simple pasta for lucnh with tomatoes and basil from the garden.  Yum.  Now watching John Torode trying to convince me that Spam and Wieners are edible and delicious.  Don't think so.    I have found gochujang online but it will cost more to p&p than for the pot so I shall just have to order more stuff to spread the load.

We had half a millimetre of rain overnight.  Barely enough to wet a leaf.    I've had to water the magnolia which was starting to lose its foliage already.   Given my dodgy tum I shall stay in and sew.

Hope Mrs PD is better today; that Chicky masters her poles and knees; that FG doesn't miss her mountains too much and Joyce has a peaceful day.   Enjoy those kittens AR.   Clari - dogs are much easier, even when they have problems.    You need a spare bed to which you can banish a snorey OH.

Off to read back properly.  Enjoy your afternoon folks.

Obelixx, it was a peaceful morning until I noticed water droplets from the toilet ceiling running down the tiles. Will need o get the roofer out to check the tiles and leading.

I hope you are feeling better this afternoon.

We visited an NGS garden in Dereham this morning, really beautiful, the we went to an antiques fair in Hingham, then visited another local garden in the open gardens weekend. Met some local friends there and had tea and cake. Didn't rain.

Oops Joyce.  Hope that gets fixed pdq before it does real damage.

Yvie - how was the plant porn?

Sounds like a blissful day Busy.

I have now finished all Possum's sewing and tidied everything away and vacced the floor!  Watching GH on Cottage gardens this time.   Lovely things to do with roses and clematis and honeysuckle but topiary may be a step too far for me for now.

Now to cook roast chicken with Greek herbs and spices.   Possum is out having a surfing lesson and himself has taken the dogs so he can walk them along the unattended beach while she gets wet.  The kittens are both stretched out fast asleep on their sheepskin.  Clearly a lively shrew is exhausting.
