PP: fear not I didn't have to resort to the outside loo! That's when you know things are bad; when you go for the room with a view! image

Hosta; my neighbours regular put all sorts down the drain. They really haven't learnt that

    a) a t shirt, pair of pants, three socks, and a stuffed teddy really don't belong down there

    b) they are on the lowest point of the line and so by the time we realise there's a problem their garden is being well fertilised. (And no they'll not take this as a hint to call the experts in themselves).

Make sure you get a report of what caused the blockage; it'll help you ensure the deposit is retained.

I keep looking on gumtree etc. but I have a very specific idea of what run I want. That said the future mother in law has her eyes on my coop so this might at least let me change my plans a little.

Aunty; good luck at the vets! Reggie (big scary German Shepherd) is (a complete wimp) a red flag at the vets as his fear has sharp teeth.

    Morning all.

Sad day, we are going to OH's BIL's funeral in Buckinghamshire, bit of a drive. Must be back in Norfolk tonight as we have to back to get the ferry back to France tomorrow.

We didn't have chicken last night. We went to the pub and I had steak (haven't had one for ages) and OH had prawn curry.

I think that was brave, Chicky, an 18 mile walk. When we had the flat in Eastbourne we used to take the bus to Brighton!

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

Clari ((hugs)) have you been eating something best avoided?  image

    See original post

I think it's just my stomach condition flaring up again. I didn't have a fever (to think that maybe it was actually something bursting inside me) and I didn't have the normal headache that acts as an alarm bells to say I've eaten something I can't tolerate.

I don't feel ill to think it's a bug (although I'm not sure craving a rare steak and onion rings at 09:30 is entirely right!)

I've mopped the kitchen floor (tartare sauce to floor related incident while other half was making his lunch) now I'm trying to find receipes to use up the blackberry harvest that is now in full flow.

    Well, that was a result.

Just called and haggled with AA re renewal cover. I've just saved £130 for the same level of cover.image

Dyno rod will be here in an hour.

I'm now hoping it stays dry long enough for me to get the grass cut. I did a bit last night and it's a wee bit squelchy .

    Eureka!!!

I think I've worked out the Morton's neuroma cause , and it's not down to my wearing of stilettos.

Where I sit at the breakfast bar using my laptop, I'm sitting on a kinda "bar stool" and often barefoot and,as such, have my toes on the bar. Pressure at base of toes!! Bingo!!

Brilliant!  Hosta .... now you've got to remember to stop doing it image  .............. as for the AA .... they've been trying to charge me an arm and a leg for yonks ... I do under 7,000 miles per year and that includes one trip a year down to you.  In the end I called their bluff and went over to Green Flag ............ the AA then said they'd meet whatever Green Flag cost me ...... I said 'too late mate'  .... 'I've been a member for years and years and you should have given me your best price without me having to haggle.'  image

When I was doing Business Studies in my long distant youf, the mantra was "It's always easier and cheaper to keep a customer than hook a new one with marketing and sales campaigns".  Whatever happened to client fidelity from the supplier/sales end?

I slept 10 and a half hours last night, minus a brief spell around dawn when I was used as a trampoline and springboard by the small white furry person.   Scintillating day doing a thorough house clean and then a raid on the SM.

Have asked OH if we can build our garden table shelter - metal frame and cloth cover - but he thinks oiling his new planks for the veggie plot may be more important and after he's changed the door on the new freezer and taken Haryy to the garage to fix the brake squeals only he can't hear.

Chicky - glad your poles did the trick.   Hosta - hope Dynrod does the trick.   Have you thought of using a proper desk and chair?   Might be better for your back down the line too.

Have a good last day LP.  Possum has been here 3 weeks now and it's flying by.   She's starting to worry she won't get her day in La Rochelle.

Pat - yes, it's good to be home but good to go away and have an adventure too.

Hope today goes well Busy and you get back in time not to be rushed.

Mondays are vegetarian here.  No chicken!    Have a good one everyone.
