Ob; re poo bags. I will confess they have become such a part and parcel of my life that they have been called into service for

    - child who thought they were about to throw up over my nice clean museum floor (teacher was very impressed at the speed I moved)

    - rubbish bin at an event (didn't we look organised and smart and tidy!)

and so many other things. I even find them in my posh going out clasp bag thingy ( why don't dresses have pockets is an entirely different rant I could have).

PDoc: I hope you managed a glass of water with it. I think being home alone affects people differently. For my family in the military it's part and parcel but they almost trained into how cope with it and of course have a big network of people. For the likes of me; I honestly don't mind it that much when my partner is away (okay so I mind a little when it's on my birthday and he's sending me pictures of the amazing meals he's had out in Japan while I wrestle the dog in out of the garden but...)

If I go away however it seems like a big thing.  Perhaps because I'm the one who knows what is in the cupboards and freezer ;)

Take the opportunity to remind your OH how much you value each other.

Last night the weather report said it was going to rain today. Now it's saying heat wave. I KNEW I should have risked getting the washing done to go on the line!

Wonky if you're around you'll understand the big deal this is. Yesterday I brought a pinafore dress for work. Why? Because I am fed up of smart trousers not having any pockets!! It's ridiculous you can't keep your phone by your side. I am not a skirt wearing person, dresses come out only to startle friends who weren't even aware I had legs (I don't joke; a friend for years actually thought that after The Crash I had lost my legs - he met me some years after the event - because i never wore feminine things like skirts and high heels). But I NEED pockets!

Morning all/ afties Pat if you're there.

Joyce - I'm only half an hour away if you need anything at all.

Glad everything is coming together so well for you DD. I've missed a lot of the ins and outs recently, but it's terrific that your new life is taking off in such a great way. image

Daughter's birthday yesterday so I had cake making duties after work and then took them both out for dinner. She wanted ordinary cake with strawberries and cream. Lovely, but I felt  rather full afterwards image

I love being on my own - never been happier, although there's a good reason for that!   We're all different I guess. At least you've made it clear to that creep about boundaries doc  image

Better shift and get to work - have a good day everyone.

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

Good morning.  Been up ages after workmen started with their literally bleeping machines at 6am.   Woken up a couple of times by other noises and bangs.  I'm not cut out for life in a town centre any more, no matter how good the views across the roof tops to the citadel.

Hot day coming up.  Brussels is going to be such fun.

Clari - it's what handbags are for, and jackets and fleeces!   I get infuriated with jeans whose pockets are too shallow t be of any use.   Dungarees were great in my 20s and I see they're back in the shops now.   Possum bought a pair yesterday.

DD - it all sounds very dynamic and exciting.   Great stuff.

Pdoc - Doh!  To be a might blunt, when you leave your OH you're going off to dangerous places whence you may not return at all so it's good you're finally beginning to understand what it's like for her to be home alone.

    Have a great day everyone.

I have to say , I'm not really great at being on my own. but Hubby being "up country" Sun - Thurs at this time of year is fine as I don't get " when are you going to be finished?" " when are you planning on going to bed tonight?" ( like any of us PLAN when we're going to be tired.  " Are you going to be much longer?" etc etc.

I was awake at 5.45 as my dear neighbour really needed to slam his car door about 6 times before heading off to work.

I discovered a wee dead , tennis ball sized, hoglet on the drive too. Can't blame him for hitting it, but , poor wee thing.

    Devon.

I can relate to your penult para as had to be rescued.  I used to have some smart navy cord dungaroos in my teens.  Had to wrigglevtho' when I wanted the loo.  Obe it does sound lovely where you are.  Hi dove hope you are okay.  Clari I use poo bags for my two housecoat when I clean the litter each day.  Joyce I hope you managed to get some sleep.

    punkdoc says:

.....  I am not used to being home alone.

I now realise what it was like for OH., when I was away all the time.

    ....

    See original post

Punkdoc ((hugs))  ... No you don't .... you don't have any idea ... you know that (barring awful and unlikely accident) your OH will return home safe and sound.  She was scared out of her mind that she would never see you again ... and with very good reason.  I think that if you say to her that you realise what it was like for her when you were away, you might get a well deserved ear-full!!!

    Hi all.

Had burglars in the night, well imaginary ones anyway.

Thought I heard a noise in the night, so got up, went downstairs and wandered round the outside of the house [ pants and a tee shirt, I know not a pleasant thought ]. Found the culprit, a badger digging up the lawn, lovely to see.

    Have a good day.

Pdoc ... I ought to explain that at the time things between the Serbs Bosnians and Croats were kicking off  in 92/93 my then husband had taken it upon himself to do some relief work out there ... he went missing for quite a while and nobody ... absolutely nobody knew where he was  ... he had been taken captive by the Serbs ... but of course I didn't know that until he eventually got back ... I didn't know anything ....... not very nice for me ....... even if our marriage was almost at an end anyway ... if I'd actually loved him I can't imagine how I'd have felt ...........
