Lovely mug. Now they need one for people who don't have a parliamentary pension to fall back on. Under Gordon Brown it was quietly increased to 1/40th of final salary for every year served as an MP and they now earn £76,000 so that's quite a chunk and their own pension contributions are paid for by public funds so, in effect, they're being paid much more. https://www.ft.com/content/1082473a-3979-11e7-ac89-b01cc67cfeec
Time for some austerity for MPs.

Have I missed the results of the plant which has had the most influence/impact on our gardens over the last fifty years? Thought we should have had the results by now but haven't seen anything about it.
Interesting comments from customers when buying "the Sundays" Even folk buying the Telegraph are speechless about Me Me Mayhem's arrogance, vanity and naivety .
Fairy , you can easily avoid the canna virus by two methods.
1. don't grow any.
2, keep ALL aphids out of your garden.
No more for me from now on.
Re MPs' pensions. Have you ever wondered why you so often hear " will not be standing at the next election" and not " has quit". If an MP quits mid term, they forfeit their pension, but if they hang on until the next election they get it. George Osbourne must be thrilled she called an early one, and boy is putting the boot in now?
Joyce - maybe a minimum one full day or night a week working with the homeless, the long term sick, the poorly housed and pensioned, council "sink" estates, school assistants in poor areas where kids have no breakfast or dinner, old people's homes for those who can't pay fees, casualty on a weekend, community support officers, community mental health workers all struggling under inadequate resources and/or bad management..........
Then, maybe they'd understand about how offensive all that is in one of the richest countries in the world and act to help people change their lives instead of imposing from on high.

Afternoon all. Service went well even though a beaver fell asleep and we acquired a one year old who has mastered the art of crawling under the pews! Aside from being an escape artist she was very well behaved and made it all the more fun.
I'm now playing the will it rain game. The weather report says no. But the fact that my washing is out means the clouds are looking all mean and aggressive.

"time for some austerity for MPs"......and for some years of working outside the Westminster bubble before standing for election.
