Ferry company has a heart. The funeral of one of the young girls killed in Manchester is taking place today on the small Scottish island of Barra.

The ferry company has changed it's timetable to enable hundreds of mourners attend the funeral and return home the same day.

A bit of excitement here ... two beekeepers are attempting to take a swarm which has taken up residence in a small conifer on the rock garden at the house opposite ... OH and I have had a look from the window ... it seems that the swarm haven't really settled ... one of the beekeepers has been on the phone a lot ... summoning reinforcements?  ... frustratingly I can't see it from the sofa as my Clematis Freckles is in the way ... but I can't stand at the window for long, even with a zimmer ...

Just read back, what a lot of chaterers we are this morning

Hosta, I know we have different systems up here but there is a dreadful shortage here too.  Our part if the world is blessed with a super practice, always seen on the day if need to, local hospital offering minor injuries unit ( sadly used by me a few times) and a pharmacy who go well behind the call if duty.

Clari I so appreciate yiur offer but have manage to exhaust the washing machine and the last load is on

Dove how is the foot today?

Busy I am a dreadful hoarder things get out in a bag for the charity shop then sit for 6 months incase I change my mind!!!!!!

growing spinach for the first time, how long does it take to germinate? It's been weeks now ?

Weeds are flowers, too, once you get to know them.”

Bees can be tricky can't they and definitely have a mind of their own. Daughter had a swarm on a fence post too near the house and the horses for comfort. She managed to find someone to come and collect them who kept ringing her to check they were still there but about 5 minutes after he arrived with all his gear they upped and left. As far as they could see they flew over the horse paddocks and settled in an oak tree beyond.

Supposed to pour later and very windy so a bit of deadheading then I suppose I'll have to attack the cobwebs that are gathering in my house and perhaps finish shortening the too long jeans I bought. The problems of having not very long legs image

OH tells me the beekeepers ( plus bees?) have moved on.

The swelling on the foot and ankle has gone down considerable thanks ...... but my foot is now an attractive shade of yellow ....... looks rather like a piece of that highly coloured smoked haddock image

Watching Sir Andy here ... the young Russian Khachanov  looks full of talent .... I think Andy will beat him today, but watch out for him in the future.

    Hi all!

Quick look in while we have a spot of lunch.  Packing mostly done, still an irritating number of outside jobs to be done in the rain...

Glad the foot and ankle are less swollen, Dove.  Hopefully you'll soon be able to bear some weight on it, and feel more yourself.  image

A near neighbour had a swarm of bees in their porch roof; the beekeeper had to erect some sort of temporary hive over the large hole he made in the roof, because the bees were trying to take up residence inside the house wall.  It took a few days, but they have now been successfully removed.  Luckily the home owner is a builder so repairs to the slate roof should be reasonably straighforward...

It's brightening up.  Still raining, but it might be a good time to refill the bird feeders.

Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

OH has taken a closer look - the bees are still there - the beekeepers have left a box by the tree, presumably  in the hope that the bees will move into it.

Still not raining here, we have cloud but it's still quite bright ... however the wind is pretty blustery.

We've given up in the tunnel. Blowin' a flippin' gale now and the noise " does my head in" so it's time for a cuppa indoors.

All waterlilies potted up. eucomis potted on. Canes in for the tomatoes and OH has agreed to buy more where needed. image

" you can buy the compost" image Ah well, I'm thankful for small mercies.

Take it easy Dove , and send my love to OH.

We've been watching the concert in Manchester for the past few hours. I didn't realise it was so long. Lots of well known artists.

Im ready for bed, but need to see it through to the end. (Midnight here).
