Good morning......delving down here again, I can hear the weeds growing, but so too are the plants, so   not all bad.  Feeling a bit stir crazy, lots of little plants to get in the garden as they are growing quickly and beginning to yellow, might get some in if there's a break in the weather today.

Female blackbird had started to bring her little one into the kitchen to feed from the cats bowl, two of my cats just sit and watch, but I took my eye off the ball and Aran (3rd cat, the murderer) caught the fledgling, I got there in time though, left the little thing for a few minutes, to gather himself, and the happily flew off again.  Needless to say, Aran ignored me for the whole day, no sign of the mother and baby this morning, probably too scared now to come again.

Good morning everyone, it's rained nonstop since 10pm last night fortunately the predicted wind never happened. I always worry about our very old trees when they are in full leaf and it blows

Dove you must have loved giving your poor foot a bathe

Beaus mum,  ice to see you, how is Beau?

    Clari that is some henhouse

Pat I would never get away with serving fritatta for dinner that would be seen as a lunchtime snack! Sounds yum!

mary we can't be vigilant all the time but you saved that one!

think it might be a kitchen day today.

Good morning.  A wild and woolly night here and it's still windy but notraining any more.   We have blue skies now.

Off to see a man about a load of chipped bark and do a raid on the SM and then painting and planting, as ever.

Clari - I'd be tempted to cover that with polythene and make a grow house.  Where will the chucks sleep?  I hope you're enjoying the new job.

Pat - it's a well known fact that as we get older our reaction times slow down and our sight and hearing can lose their acuity and we can be less aware of our surroundings.  There are definitely some dangerous 80 year olds out there who should not be on the road endangering others but then there are also some younger people who aren't safe either.

'yesterday morning one of the horses in the field at the end of our garden gave birth! The baby foal was beautiful. I was a bit worried about the mother as she obviously had done alone.  tried finding out who's field and horses they were but no joy.  I did call another farmer and he said if she did naturally she would sort herself and would be fine.  I do hope so

blowing a hooley here. I'm sitting here watching everything in the garden getting flattened but no point attempting a rescue just yet - it's forecast to get worse today. The plants that were staked are faring worse - flat is more salvageable than snapped image. How depressing
