Pat; sounds like you'll be the busy one! I need to sort out the office. I used to enjoy going in there to relax and write or draw but now I'm not even sure if find the desk, much less my paint set.

Morning all image  Overcast here but still dry. We have lots of broad beans ready ... Must send OH out to pick them before the wet weather arrives

Good morning Dove. You're sounding on top of things today. Must have been your perambulation around the garden yesterdayimage.

Clari,  your office sounds very much like my art room.

im not sure why I've collected empty biscuit tins, cardboard packaging, plastic containers that are no longer air tight for the kitchen, extra large plastic bags (in case they came in handy for something), half done knitting or cross stitch projects, etc. I'll probably work it out eventually.

    Morning allimage

Office this morning then planting out nicotiana and cosmos this afternoon. Heavy rain to water it all in this evening.

Watched the start of the concert - I quite like Take That and Robbie - although I am way old enough to know better. Nice little show of defiance after Saturday night.

Your art room sounds like my wardrobe Pat - I have shoes I can no longer wear because my feet have changed shape and clothes I'm too fat to get into. No idea why I'm keeping them. Kidding myself that one day I'll be sylph like again.

    Enjoy your day all.

    Morning Topbird and Lilyp.

Topbird, I've got shoes like that too. I guess they'll have to go lower on the list.image

    Morning all.

Glad the concert went well last night and the weather looked lovely. I only saw the last 5 mins while waiting for the 10 o'clock news to come on. Not my kinda thing at all.

OH turned on the TV as Little Mix came on.... What the flip were they wearing??????? As I said, NOT my kinda thing. I'm clearly OLD now.

Raining here, at last, so a day in the tunnel beckons.

Good morning everyone, I was abruptly woken at 4.10.am. when Toby (dog) was barking the house down.  Jumped up, as there was quite a lot of noise outside, opened the front door to let Toby out to sort out whoever was there (which he has successfully done on two other occasions).  Turns out there was a blazing fire across the green, fire brigade and gardai there, with all the lights and noise of engines and hoses being used.  Initially I thought it was a house that was on fire but luckily it was a large white van ablaze, (I say luckily as it would have been much worse if the house was ablaze, and it was probably insured), it took the fire men ages to get the alarm turned off after they quenched the fire, they must have been beating it with a sledge hammer, because as soon as the loud banging had stopped so had the alarm.  Took ages to settle poor Toby down, but he's had a good sleep, as for me, methinks it's my time to get back to bed for a catch-up.

    See original post

Lily: pop your washing over here my machine is going to be on all day. No tumble dryer alas but plenty of space to air things out to dry. I might even treat myself to a movie while I do the ironing. I would say chocolate but all I have in the ouse is something grandparents brought me and it tastes rather like dog chocolate.

Just called the doctors at 08:35 (they open at 08:30). Got through at 08:48 and they're fully booked. No surprise I do feel sorry for them. Tomorrow morning I will get a phone call from a doctor to discuss having a diabetes test. It runs rampant in my family and I am keen to keep an eye on things. My last doctor advised a test every two years but this surgery are more hands off when it comes to monitoring anything. I guess my previous doctor had more funding in this area. I am sure I haven't got it but I do have warning signs (which of course could be anything including paranoia) which I would be happier to deal with on my own (as I said; they prefer the hands off approach) if I could at least be able to rule out a few things. I am sure it's just my stomach condition preventing me from absorbing what I need (but they don't want to test my iron - for instance - levels instead of well why not try taking supplements from Tesco and see if they help).

I really feel for people with long term serious conditions. I know there simply isn't enough doctor to go around here and i don't think it's going to get better. I know we must all do what we can to look after ourselves and it really makes me bite my tongue when I see things that really won't be helping matters, be it the endless MacDonald wrappers blowing over from next door or the man smoking outside the hospital WHILE attached to an oxygen mask WHILE telling their friend or family member that the doctors are telling me smoking makes my copd worse but I don't believe them

but then... aren't we lucky where we get to make the choice.

Too many thought are filling my head and now it's raining too hard so I can't get out and pot up my tumbling toms.

Keep drinking the water everyone! If nothing else a full bladder is wonderful at concentrating the mind on the here and now.
