Evening. I haven't seen Springwatch yet as had my own going on... a fox ran across the garden earlier! Poor thing look a bit bedraggled as we have had torrential rain all day. Obviously he ran off by the time I picked up my phone to take a picture. ?
I've been doing some computer work this evening but facing out to the garden. It's been like a theatre performance out there. In the first Act the rain was so heavy it breached the guttering made a waterfall display, then in Act two the wind picked up to such a pace my umbrella rolled off the garden table and knocked some pots over. There was suspense and drama as I ventured out to right the pots and my Agapanthus had been wounded - a tradgedy indeed. The fianalé was the fox running on to the stage.
Take care everybody - off to bed after a peppermint tea and antacid (too many snacks in the interval!)
I just wonder who decides which plants are fashionable and which are unacceptable, my sister was digging out a huge deadnettle from her garden and I pointed out that I had seen something half the size for sale on a garden website for nearly £5! She decided to dig it up anyway!
I expect people write essays on the subjects of what is fashion versus weeds, debs64. I have kept quite a few 'weeds' this year as a wildflowers and I'm sure many of my plants would be culled by many - e.g. Alchemilla, Loosestrife and Crocosomia.
I always think that it's not individual plants which are undesirable or weeds, but it's how they complement and companion other plants or the situation that can make them either heros or villains.
We've had rain overnight! A whole 1.5mm in the gauge! Off to town this morning for annual drivers licence renewal. I've been driving since 1960, and still need Dr verification that I'm capable to drive. When I hi 80, I've also got to do a driving test! I can't help thinking it's a money making exercise.
Back from town - drivers licence renewed, its blooming freezing out there. Sleet and wind. I'm inside near the heater for the rest of the day. Brrrrrrrrr!
We appear to have had quite a bit of rain - that'll make the garden grow!!! There'll be some edges to trim and weeds to pull when Wonky visits next week
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
the weather is unbelievable but I remember last year when I was working I had booked most of June off and I think it rained every day! So much for flaming June!
i have been busy bee up until now in the garden and entertaining the in laws this weekend and also enjoying the voluntary work Friday's
Morning all. Clari, good luck with the IT. Pity about the chicken run,- looks more like a chook house to me
Hubby has gone off to town with a mate tonight to a meeting with our local politician about getting a tower for the village for either Broadband or Telstra. Can't remember which - same old, same old, hoo har!
Looks like it's some left over Veggie Frittata from last night for me. Just as well he made a big one.
Funnily enough, when I bought the ingredients for him to try this new recipe, I especially bought Fetta to sprinkle on top. It wasn't until I was putting the leftover in the fridge that my eye fell on the fetta Guess I'll crumble some on tonight.

Pat; it's been raining here too. Only if it rains much more in on danger of finding the fish on the lawn!
The chicken run has been sold and the advert removed. Unfortunately I don't think it went to his lordship as he's not mentioned it at all. Oh well.
This is the style I'm wanting: http://www.henhouseworld.co.uk/accessories.htm
Easy to maintain, clean and modify to suit my exacting requirements, and tall enough for me to get inside.
Off to the office shortly. I wonder what IT nightmares will await me.
Good morning all
