Morning all. Still cold, but we can't expect anything else In winter. Another 1.5mm in gauge this morning. At this rate we'll have overcast days for weeks with very poor rain return for the discomfort. We might all turn into mushrooms.
I hope Dove gets a good night's rest without the boot. Such a nuisance having to wear it all the time.
I've not seen much in the way if wind damage yet; but I fear my route to work may be laiden with trees.
But before that; blood test time. Apparently now you don't have to fast before a test. I assume they can measure your blood sugars long term rather than a here and now measurement? It'll be interesting to find out. On one of my fast tests the nurse found my blood sugar so low I wasn't allowed to leave til I'd eaten a mars bar and my packed lunch!
Morning all. The wind has subsided but I notice the rain will be back tonight, lasting all tomorrow too.
Nevermind - everthing is watered and we can start crossing fingers for a fine weekend.
I have started my new regime of getting up earlier as I was in a bad habit of using 'snooze' - so far so good as am on second cuppa plus have time to read forum!
Been very busy in the garden and went to a meeting in Bergerac yesterday, haven't had time to post. My annual charity Strawberry Tea is on Saturday. SM for supplies this morning, gardening this afternoon, cake making for the Tea tomorrow and tidying house and gardening. Shopping for the S. Tea on Friday. Around 50 will be coming and friends will come and help.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Morning all, good to hear you're all safe. It was horrible here yesterday but sunny this morning although still rather breezy - best do some washing I suppose.
My daughter's family are having a big party outside on Saturday with one of their own cows roasted on a spit. They were supposed to put the marquee/tent thingy up yesterday but have postponed it until tomorrow now so fingers are firmly crossed for calm.
I've ordered new windscreen wipers for my car as they were making awful scrunching noises when I was out yesterday. Hope I've ordered the right ones and I can work out how to put them on when they come. Off to gird my loins and go outside to gather up the stuff that's blown all over the garden and tidy up the flattened plants.

will catch up with everyone's news later.
The high winds have moved north now so hope there's no tree damage.
Brilliant!

Keep safe everyone.
Good morning all
Just waking here ... No coffee yet ... Still sounds blustery outside ...

Clari, the blood sugar test covers the previous six to eight weeks so better than just the fasting blood sugar.

I keep getting security alerts for this site and then it won't work.
