Could someone switch the wind off now, please? Had enough. The noise in the chimney is so loud we can't hear the tv, the big dogwood out the front is now looking like it needs a new hairdo and I don't even know where my new rose (still in its pot from the garden centre) has got to.
Off to Chatsworth tomorrow. Apparently the press day today was shortened due to high winds. They are warning people to wear suitable clothing and footwear (wellingtons).
Same here Hosta ... Wonky says they had small branches down; she's been driving around with her tractor and trailer collecting them. She said they had blue skies by late afternoon - they didn't reach here :-(
im tucked up in bed - early night so I can take my boot off. It's jolly uncomfortable by the end of the day.
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Just got in from work ....having toast and marmalade in lieu of dinner
Will be up and away early in the morning too - littlest Chicklet has her first A-level exam, and I don't want her driving in whilst potentially distracted. She has been working like a trooper and really deserves to do well, so fingers crossed.
Gales here too - trees down in the lane - Mr C has joined the neighbours on chain saw parade
My goodness Chicky you are late, best of luck to chicklet, I hope she likes her paper
Dove hope you sleep peacefully without your boot
Clari I confess to sleeping better now I know you are wind and watertight and have electricity and proper walls, just little things we all take for granted
Fidget enjoy your day, photos please?
plantmaiden I hope things have quietened down for you
morning Pat when you pop in, hope it's a bit milder for you today
i have been watching Broken, really disturbed me, I used to hear stories like that regularly Why does so little improve?

Still windy but the rain has stopped.

Hope you sleep well Dove.
Still very breezy here; thank goodness we don't have the gaps around the windows and doors anymore.
