Good morning everyone.  35C out there already and warmer than forecast.  The wind is from the south east so from the land and they add a wind warming factor that says the 33 forecast will feel like 38.  Got that wrong.  The breeze is pleasant but we're keeping the shutters down on the sunny side today.

OH is playing golf, armed with lots of sunscreen and 3 bottles of water as he tees off at 11:30.  Mad.  Doggies will get walkies at 9pm again.

I'm staying in the shade and painting and maybe a bit of sewing in prep for next lot of visitors.

How come all the long hours Chicky?  Year end?  Project deadline?  Hope it's over soon.

Liri - glad it was a good holiday.  LP - hope all is well with your eye ow.  Try a PM to Nora or a post on the Site Feedback board.

DD - your sellers have surely been around your area long enough to know about rural Monday bank closing.  We had to complete our purchase on a Tuesday.    Stay strong.   You're nearly there.

Stay cool everyone and remember your fluid intake!

Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

Welcome back folks who've been absent for whatever reasons.

I've been watering for the last 3 hours or more. I'm soooooooooooooo glad we have neither a water meter nor hosepipe restrictions.

Cuppa, shave, shower and get off to the coal face and hear folk moaning all day about " it's tooooooooooooo hot" gggrrrr. " you stay here and work in the air conned shop and I'll have the day off and bake"

Oh hosta i would so love air conditioning at work. We have the bback door open and a fan that's like a small asthmatic  mouse blowing on us. Just bought a desk fan to take in tomorrow (I am off today) you and my sister are the only people I know who enjoy this heat!

OH had a moan about me watering plants last night but as we've spent the money on bringing them here or buying them it's daft to lose them for the lack of a drop of water, metred or not.   I'll mulch them when we get some rain.

No doubt they'll all complain when it turns cool and/or wet Hosta.

If it was 27C every day, and it rained only in the hours of darkness, I'd be a very , very happy man.

Obs, this is Devon, we kinda all accept the rain as we get so much of it. Only when we get floods do we moan about it, normally.

One winter when we were in Goa, it got down to 16C at night, the lowest every recorded.( usually no lower than 23C ) The children of a friend were in tears  as they were so cold they didn't want to get out of bed and the newspapers talked of " freezing weather conditions"

    Afternoon all, morning(?) Pat.

Hope everyone suffering, whether from the heat, injuries or worries feels better soon. How's the foot, Dove?

Good to hear DD's progress - so close!

Welcome back Liri, and Chicky too. Those are LONG days.

I'm neither use nor ornament today and I'm not sure why. This weather doesn't suit me so I'm somewhat short of sleep, but I think it might be something to do with falling over yesterday. Just tripped in the garden and didn't particularly hurt myself although landed flat out - got straight up and carried on with what I was doing and then had a busy, hot evening of getting kids to and from places and visiting. But woke up with a very bruised knee, a migraine (now gone with the aid of wonder drugs) and feeling desperately weary. Laid down for a bit (most unlike me) but have still been useless since getting up again. Is it my age, I wonder? I feel rather silly.

Anyway - anyone want any tomato plants? I grew too many and can't bring myself to throw them away. Might just stick them in all the borders and see how they do.
