Just had a lovely long phone chat with a happy Wonky, followed by another with her brother ...now for a coffee and some list writing ... a short shopping list and a longer To Do list for the garden

Topbird, I'm inclined to agree that I also prefer the white Nerines. My pink ones (if they're still there) were a very palepink, not the darker ones. I really must have a search tomorrow. The last time I saw them a couple of years ago, they were under a very thorny rose.

We've just finished a lovely roast dinner of Turkey Wings and vegs, so rather relaxed in front of the TV. We're watching Secrets of  Scottish Manor Houses, Roslyn this episode.

    Have a good day all.

Pat, I wonder if you will see Rosslyn Chapel. . . fascinating place.

Sorry, Joyce. I should have written that. It was wholly about the chapel. Dan Brown has a lot to answer for. Interesting to hear the various comments by the real people and the idiots trying to find obscure things from the Holy Grail to missing Knights to people trying to find lei lines and hidden chambers. I did enjoy the more sensible comments and explanations of the carvings.   It's been a good series. Pity it's now finished. image

I love Rosslyn Chapel - wonderful setting, beautiful, intricate medieval stone carvings and (I seem to remember) some quite rude ones too.

There usually are rude ones - the male, schoolboy, bawdy sense of humour hasn't changed at all over hundreds of years. Beliefs, attitudes to women, violence and animals - they've changed (not as much as they should sometimes - but they've changed). But show a bloke a set of buttocks and a joke about farting and they're back with their Saxon / medieval ancestorsimage

Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down

Whenever we visited Hindu / Buddhist temples , we'd always look for " racey" carvings.

I remember in a museum in Sri Lanka mentioning to our Guide how rare male nudity was and he said there was none. I took him round the corner and proved him wrong.

" I've been in this museum hundreds of times over the last 20 years, and I've never noticed that"

He just wasn't looking hard enough eh?

    Hi,

Pat I have subscribed to that Chanel. It's free and I can watch it in the iPad. I am interested to see what they are saying.  Dumfries House is along the road from us and I have been to the others. Glad you enjoyed it.

GWRS I love crab, sounds yum!

OH finally succumbed to all the bugs in this house so I have been boss this morning.   Wonderful! We only have help on a Sat morning but our chap is a star  We are entertaining next weekend and he has offered to come two hours early to sweep, cut and trim so we look at out best!

Joyce the wind is rising again! Hope fairy took some sandbags for her ankles!
