Lyn, I'm nowhere near as old as " the old boy" but I have come to the realisation that not one single politician, from any party,in this country deserves my vote, or my trust.

It's not a question of turning the clock back to some imagined golden age, it's a genuine fear for the future.

    See you Friday. x

Moira, can I add my warmest wishes to you and to Nigel.

Moira, thank you for letting us know where Nigel is. It must be so upsetting and worrying for you, but, on the other hand, it is very brave of him. The people of Syria are in such a desperate situation and few people are brave enough to go there to help, but Nigel is your husband and, if I were you, I'd be wishing he would stay at home and not interfere in the wars of other far away countries.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

Moira, another worrying time for you.  Thoughts are with you and Nigel.  It's good that some people are willing to give help when it is desperately needed.

i have great regard for all the voluntary services helping to save lives.

    Evening all.

Have just seen your post Moira - and echo the others' comments. Incredibly worrying and frustrating for you - to say the least. I hope he isn't away too long. He deserves so much credit for what he's chosen to do - but that's not much comfort to you. We're all here for you if you need a bit of support - even if it's only virtual.  Sending love and hugs for you both xxx

Been a lovely day here - the sun was out all day , and it got to mid teens. The breeze disappeared for most of the time so very pleasant.

Update on our 'late order rosettes' from Independents - the bloke who we sent them to yesterday phoned to say how delighted he was and wanted to know if we had a Facebook page so that he could make a comment! The other one phoned to say he couldn't get anyone to collect his and could we send them - no matter what the cost. When he asked how he could pay, and was told the invoice would be in the parcel, he was astonished. He said feel free to bad mouth him in the Glasgow Herald  if he didn't pay his bill! He was quite a nice chap really - he might be your area, Joyce - a Mr Ian Murdoch. image

In the money........received notification today that the Attendance Allowance for OH will increase  by

55p per week. Must be grateful.

Another warm, sunny day and spent my "me" in the garden and got a lot done in the three hoursimage

  • Moira, I think your other half is extremely brave, and you must be very proud of him. If more people thought the way that he does, we wouldn't have so many wars or so much heartache in the world. Thinking of you both.

Fairy, it cost more to send the notification.

Looks as though you will manage the Mamores this weekend image

Doesn't surprise me Joyce. You'd think they'd notify people by email instead nowadays, but I think the system's not fit for purpose  image

Everywhere looks good for the weekend! There's two at Glen Lochay I've not done and it's a boggy old route, so it would be a good time to do those. Spoiled for choice  image
