Shoulder's not completely better BL ... in fact it may be a condition rather than an injury as I'm now getting twinges in left arm as well ... am cutting down on calcium supplements for a while to see if it improves things. However, I need the exercise as it's very good for my wonky knee - I only play Short tennis and we play to our own capabilities with a soft ball so as long as I'm careful .........
Flippin chilly out there ... I've just taken some mealworms out to the robins and topped the birdbath up.
I forgot to say, we spotted some Smooth Newts getting amorous in our little wildlife pond the other day
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Obelixx, I saw on other thread about your being kept waiting at the solicitor's. I'm afraid that is fairly normal in France. People joke about it here. Must be something to do with the laid back lifestyle!
Off to the amazing hardware shop in small local town. Wish they had that sort of shop in France.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Hi Busy. I just found it rude. We'll try again once we've had a recommendation.
What kind of hardware? There used to be an amazing quincaillerie at Wavre - the kind that weighs tacks and screws in brown bags and all sorts of tools but also sold me a wonderful Italian stainless steel casserole and work clothes, gloves and boots. It closed when the owners retired, like the fishmongers, delicatessen and many other small specialist shops in Gembloux. Not a living for younger people apparently.
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

I wish Dove. I'm afraid, cooking is something I have to do, not desire to do. Hubby is the one who loves getting into the kitchen. Not good for the weight though.
I have to agree with " an old boy" interviewed on the News last night following a visit to Cornwall from TM. " I've never been so depressed in the whole of my adult life about the state of this country"
All 'old boys' Say that, let's go back to the good old days, overcrowding, one lav between four families, and that was up the end of the garden, no food, one change of clothes, no phones, or anything else electronic, couldn't see the doctor, couldn't afford it, but we were happy, and did we laugh? Life was great living in that cardboard box, and weren't we lucky to have one? ? my mum always used to say...don't talk to me about the good ole days.
what do people want? Whatever they've got, they always want more, if they want perfection there only one place to go.
Rant over.
See you Friday sweetie ?

Hello Moira.im sorry that you have to go through all the worry again. At the same time I understand how it has been tormenting him for some time. Please continue to post to us. We're keen to support you and him.
I echo Topbird's thoughts and those of the others here.
I understand your huge worry and concern and really feel for you - it must be hellish ... but I realise he has a need to not feel as if he's standing idly by when he has skills that are needed.
Our thoughts are with you both. x

Hello.
This is Moira here, I am Nigel's OH.
I thought he would probably want you to know that a week ago he decided, that he just had to go back to Syria.
I find his actions totally irresponsible, but he says he is still trying to find "himself".
He has promised me that he will only be there two weeks, to cover some leave of one of his American colleagues. I will believe that when I see him.

Hi Moira, you must be devastated.
I, naively, thought Punk was maybe out canvassing!
Thanks for posting, very brave of you. I am sure we will all wish him well and look forward to his return in two weeks!
All good wishes to you too
A A Milne
Hello Moira.
I'm sorry to hear of Nigel's decision - but not really surprised.
It must be very difficult for you to have to stand and watch him make this choice - so I'll just wish you well and hope he comes home safe and sound.
Take care of yourself and pass on our best wishes if you speak to him.
