Right, I'm home ..... I've had a hair cut too ...... think Annie Lennox does Judi Dench ... or the other way about and as well as getting my phone fixed I've had a new battery fitted in my best watch, bought a new pair of comfy shoes (Hotter trainers), eyeshadow and skin stuff from Boots and I went to the brilliant butcher on the market and bought pork chops and lamb chops for the weekend and lamb's liver for this evening's supper.
Now I'll have a sit down for a minute or three
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
You'll be pleased to know that next Friday will be my last day (unfortunately I am working the weekend with a scout camp) at the museum as a paid employee (I will still be doing voluntary work) as I am moving to the Royal Voluntary Service! Quite exciting.
It's a lot less money but I'm really excited to start. I now need to get the garden to start earning it's keep to help with my reduced food allowance and possibly keep my eye open for other jobs to top up my wages.
Unfortunately my efforts with growing from seed without the luxury of a heated house mean that even with the greenhouse everything is very small and not keen on growing into big strong plants. I am loathe to visit a garden centre!
Now; just what the chuff am I going to do with my children's reward stickers?! I brought in bulk to see this year out but I don't think my new team will appreciate "good job" and "brave girl" stickers as rewards!!
Afternoon all I've just finished 3 days of nanna duty have read back but can't remember most of it. MoIra please send our love to Nigel when you speak to him. Will be thinking of both of you over the next couple of weeks.
Clari glad to hear that the house renovations are moving along and that you are moving on jobwise Hoping for decent weather over the weekend so I can get out in the garden. Posting from phone which I hate so that's all for now folks.
Clari for years and years my little gardening granny was a voluntary Centre Organiser for what was then the WVS (and later the WRVS).
From its beginning at the outbreak of WW2, to her retirement in the early 1980s when she was in her 80s she organised homes for evacuees, prams and baby clothes for unmarried mums who had little support, loans of medical equipment, hospital visits for those without transport, meals on wheels and holidays for the elderly (many of whom were younger than she was) and loads of other stuff, and was awarded the BEM by the Queen. Brilliant organisation. I know it's changed hugely since my granny's day, but I hope the job gives you as much fulfillment as she found with the organisation

Enjoyed GW tonight. Good to look forward to one hour shows for the next few weeks. Absolutely annoying when they take it off air to show some sports fixture or other.
Went to Hatfield Craft Show today. OH was a bit bored as it was biased towards feminine things, jewellery, hats and clothes galore.
GWRS - love Tenby. I think it's my favourite hol place of the UK. Enjoy!
Good evening. Had command of the TV tonight so watched GW 'live' for a change. I think I will be voting for the Acer when the time comes (oops - should I keep it a secret?!)
Hi GWRS in Tenby - had many holidays and trips there - a really cracking place.
I will have my most junior garden-hand with me this weeeknd - so we will be collecting up some items to help her make a bug hotel. I've already sown some wildflower mix in pots so they can be placed in the grounds of the hotel.
I enjoyed GW too; I love those chats between Carol Klein and an inspiring, elderly gardener. It's fab to hear that Penelope Hobhouse started her current garden aged 82, and is clearly still in love with gardening. I'll be delighted if I can still work 6 hours a day in my little patch, at her age.
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

LP, I've had two ultrasound scans with no real results . CT scan is altogether on a new level. Fingers crossed.
Just had a lovely few hours gassing with Lyn and drinking tea. Too flippin' blowy to stay outside for long though.

Dove, Annie Lennox crossed with Judy Dench would have been a better turn of phrase! ? I'm sure the hair is lovely! Clarie, tell is more!
