Well done Clari. I wondered what you were up to. Have you got another job organised? If not, enjoy your time at home.

    Morning all/afties Pat  - you've been busy!

Well done Clari -  on both counts! Steady on now -  shopping? For adornments?   image image

Not read back yet so I'll do that in a moment or three. Been a little touch of  frost here but it's going already as it's sunny and clear  and temp is rising  - 5 degrees and looking bonny. Still got the chilly breeze but less than before. I may get something done later after work  image

Morning, it's a corker here too Fairy

Clari it sounds as if you are having new beginnings in many areas, enjoy!

we were early in bed yesterday after a lot of hard work in the parterres. OH has just told me I am on light duties.  That usually means weeding!

    have a good day everyone.

Bird feeders filled, birdbath filled, all the pots and containers given a good soaking and the seedlings watered and turned around. Temp not too low last night 8.9C

Morning all.  Cloudy bits here but dry and very blowy with significant wind chill.   Definitely an indoors morning to begin with.  Sewing again.

Silly sparrow in the chimney this morning.  OH opened the fire door and out it flew, only to panic and bash itself on a window.   Rasta got to it first and is now looking for more.

Clari - your house progress sounds good.  How's the garden, and job prospects?

Well done Pat.  Job well done.

    Have a good day all.

    Morning all

Well done on several fronts Clariimage Do you have a new job to go to? I know you were applying for at least one some weeks ago - hope that's worked out for you.

You've been busy already Dove! I'm really only just getting going although the cat, birds and seedlings / small plants have been tended.

Hoping to shift the last of the compost off the drive this morning and use it as mulch on the new border. Then I need to find a few ankle ticklers to fill and lighten a couple of shady spots (heucheras and alchemilla I think), order a couple of clematis (might be a bit late for planting them but hey ho) and then it will be time to start at the beginning of the garden again. Definitely smacks of the Forth Bridge...

    Enjoy your day everyoneimage

    Morning everyone!  Afternoon Pat!

That pickle looks good, Pat.  image

Clari, hello, I was wondering where you were!  Congratulations on (nearly) turning your building site into a home, and on finally telling the boss where to stick his job... with others, I'm agog to hear what you'll be doing next.

We sometimes get jackdaws down our chimney, Obelixx.  We've learned from experience (of sooty wing prints on the ceiling) to shut the cat out, turn off the lights and open all the windows before letting the bird out, so it makes straight for the fresh air.

It's lovely here again, and the wind has dropped to manageable levels, so I might get the first batch of sweet peas planted out, with luck.  The second sowing is miles behind so maybe I'll get 2 flushes of flowers...  image  Must remember to come in and get cleaned up in time to go to the hairdresser... hate having the mane sorted, but I can no longer see out...

Hope your forecast is as good as ours, for the weekend, Fairy.  image

    Have a good day, folks!

Liri - I have never lost a bird that came down the chimney or in thru the window.  OH clearly needs a talk on tactics.

Good luck with the mane taming.  I now just grow mine long enough to tie back and give my fringe an occasional trim so I can see out.  Any other "style" means I can't see when I'm bending over in the borders.

It's a long weekend again here in France as Monday is the VE day holiday.   Big day on Sunday too.

Plant hunting tomorrow at an organic veggie garden and nursery that has an Open Day.
