Great picture Fairy - they composed themselves beautifully for you! No point saying anything to the spammers - they won't be looking.
Horrible weather here yesterday - drizzly, dark (needed a light on most of the day) and SO cold. Glad to have some rain but the rest is a bit miserable. Apparently it's a little warmer today. Haven't ventured out yet.
'If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need.'
Morning everyone . Just getting dark here. The valley is full of smoke apparently they are burning off down the coast and also south of Braidwood, so we're getting it. I'm glad I didn't have washing on the line.
Ive only now sat down today. Pulled out the tomato and Zucchini plants, Washed the green tomatoes, chopped them up, salted, then covered with water. Now tomorrrow I'll be busy cooking the Green tomato pickles and bottling up.
I might even get out there to dig over the garden beds,
Hosta ... my Pa wore wellie socks like those when I was a child . - home didn't seem like home without at least one pair steaming on the Rayburn in the kitchen.
Chicken, ham and leek pie to assemble today after I've been to the farm shop and the GC. I've got to go this morning as OH left his lunch of Cullen Skink in the fridge ... he phoned this morning as soon as he got to work ... I'll vote on my way up the road ...

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Sorry for those of you who are getting horrible weather. I'll try not to feel too guilty when looking out at the blue sky cos it's usually the Pennines under the cloud. Hope the feet stay warm and dry today, Wonky!
My runner bean seeds are on the windowsill, Dove. I took pity on them, shivering in the plastic growhouse. The only problem is keeping the cat from investigating...
I've run out of potting compost too. A quick trip to the GC would be good... but can I keep it quick?? Need blinkers, I think.
No elections here; I don't know why they have them in some parts of the country and not others.
Gorgeous goldfinches, Fairy!
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

Another voting day. I'll be voting for independents. Wasted vote or protest at political parties?

for over 35 years. All the sweat ends up on the outside so your feet stay dry. Worth every penny. Shop around for prices.

Love the birds. I didn't know they were goldfinches, but glad to know.
Good morning all,
Lots of rumours going about the Palace. Hope it's not bad news. Announcement at 10a.m. on BBC.
