    Sweet dreams Pat.

I'm off shortly to collect his lordship from the train station. Looks like we've dodged the worst of the storms so far but it's looking set in now. Means I daren't leave puppy on his own in case it strikes while I'm gone as that wouldn't be fair on him. Unfortunately for his lordship so that I've space for the dog and his luggage I'm going to have to take the loud uncomfortable slow truck! Oh well.

    Hi All,

I'm in Somerset at the moment, staying with one of my sons and his wife.  I am so glad they found each other as she is such a nice person and they are obviously so much in love, even after so many years I've lost count.

Woke in the night to see amazing lightening over the far hills but no thunder.

Typo correction:   should have said lightning.   Sorry.

I loathed weddings in my youf - odd family I expect - and made it very clear to OH when we got married - aged 32 and 30 - that I wasn't doing it more than once so he had to get it right.  So far so good - tho he does get grumpy when he's digging in hot weather.  It's not urgent but he's on a mission.

I have tho, been to some excellent weddings in Belgium where they now how to party.   Any French person we've met here that tells us they have spent time in Belgium always says they had a great time as they work hard and play hard and take having fun very seriously.

Clari - where will you put a second dog?

Pat - do you have a conservatory or a covered verandah?

    Home at last.

Arrived at work to be told: " erm, They're trying to get hold of you. I think they don't need you after all"

Sorted it out and I left the store at 9.55. ( hour and half late )

I delivered to a house which was actually hit by lightning in the night. All the plug and light sockets were  blown off the wall in one room and the outside socket blew off the wall , across the drive and into the field next door. A wee bit too close for comfort.

Dove:  It's ages since I heard thunder described as the gods moving their furniture.  Have I picked up correctly that you have had a fall?   Hope you are not too badly hurt.

Lily: no other dog yet but my partner keeps bringing it up as a possibility as Reggie really enjoys other dogs company; much more than he does people's company. Reggie isn't so much scared by the thunder as so on the defence to protect you. Prolonged bombardment does stress him out and with his delicate stomach this usually results in at best epic dog gas at worst his bum leaves brown paintwork all over the wall.

Ob; TWO dogs can travel comfortably in my car (so long as I don't want luggage), and two dogs and luggage travel in my beloved truck. His lordship is getting a new car so we can choose one that will either do everything we need or at least take a roof box.

His lordship safely showered and fed has been put to bed with fresh sheets after 23 hours awake. I'll not remind him of his lack of empathy when I was doing 36+ hours awake when I did a scout camp! We'll see how long his body clock can keep him asleep (in Japan he would be getting up in a couple of hours).

He's not told me much of Japan but already I want to visit.
