Interesting about the season, as you say. We have more cold seasons than warm seasons here, but I suppose we just get used to that. This year it's been great so far, as we've had proper spring weather in March and lots of stuff already further forward. I've never seen hawthorn hedges so green at this time of year - it's lovely!
Cool here and it's been a bit damp but supposed to improve. Friday already- where does the time go?
I might try and walk later as the weekend's looking rubbish.
Have a good day everyone - whatever you get up to
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
A bit rich considering it was the USA who sold the chemicals ,and the means by which to turn them into weapons, to Saddam Hussein who later used them on the Kurds in Halabja.
I was going to share you a #FridayFunny photo but the forum won't let me upload any images from my mobile.
The tale goes...
During the winter Clarington emptied her compost bins and moved them to a new location ready for a productive spring.
Clarington thought long and hard about the best position: sunshine, but not too much, easy access to the vegetable beds for emptying, and of course somewhere that wouldn't spoil the view from her beautiful new lounge.
Clarington thought she had choose the perfect position. And it was! But for one thing...
.... she had forgotten that's where the rhubarb was.
Saw a flush of blue from the bedroom window. The bluebells are out in the shady corner by the summer paddock. My favourite wildflower. That is where I'm going to bury Tigger's ashes (Border Collie) but I didn't want to upset the bluebells, was waiting for them to come out. I wonder if there will be any left in England when we arrive on 30th May.
Today I will be making about 30 rounds of sandwiches for orchestra and soloists for tonight's concert, "The Messiah".
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Hosta - glad you good a good night's sleep I woke early and lay there listening to the news
Thought Trump wasn't going to be a global policeman, thought he was supposed to get Congressional approval, thought such things should go through the UN ......... what gives him the right to take unilateral action?
But on the other hand ... this may just trigger something ... could it be the beginning of the end ??? I don't know ...positions had sort of become entrenched ... maybe something needed to be shaken up .... I don't know and I'm definitely not saying that Trump is right in launching the attack and things may well get worse before they get better ... it's so complex ...
And the UK doesn't have clean hands either ........
Clari ... the rhubarb will be well fed at least
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
No real news other than depressed about Syria and Trump but enjoying the weather and the garden at the moment.
Painful hand again today so not too much computer stuff to allow it to rest. Hope you all enjoy your Friday.
PS - Clari - I found out yesterday that a compost bin is really just a giant rhubarb forcing jar. A clump discarded in there last October has grown lots of tender pale pink stalks. As I also dump used cat litter in there we won't be eating them

Guess what????? I DIDN'T WAKE UP ALL NIGHT LONG
( well, not for long anyways )
In bed at 9 and slept almost all night until 7am.
The sun is shining and I have a million plants to plant and tons of compost to get into the ground. (teensiest exageration)
Signing the tennancy agreement this morning so our lovely new tenants can move in tomorrow.
Lots to do.
I remember watching one of those restoration programmes from Orkney.....
" We have 2 months of winter, followed by 10 months of really atrocious weather "
Just had a notification on freecycle. 10' x 8 ' greenhouse on offer. " one pane of glass missing"
They're out there folks.
"Mr Trump said he had acted in America's "vital national security interest" to prevent the use of chemical weapons."
