Hmmm think the very cold snap may only be 48 hours or so ............. but I'd still bring thermals 't Don't think it'll be anything like 'early 20s' !!!
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Watching the ANZAC commemorations and marching. Very sobering, but lovely to see the oldies still managing to march.
We are in for rain today, so no outside work for me. The rain is coming from the northwest and they are even predicting snow in a day or so. That'll be the end of the tomatoes and zucchinis I assume. Oh well, we've done very well from them this year, so i can't really complain.
The forecast rain never arrived....but then neither did the frost Wonder if we will escape tonight too? Leaving early for work today - meeting to get to. Best get wriggling .......although have to go and uncover the GH from its layer of fleece first.
Hope you enjoy Malvern Lizzie - we will be passing you the other way in the tunnel, as this weekend is our Keukenhof expedition. 3more sleeps
Good luck in the first day of your new job Wonky - hope they're nice people. I'm sure you are going to have a great time, and learn loads in the process
Good morning everyone. Our rain hasn't arrived and it's already after 4pm
I investigated an area up the hill from the house to look to see if my Ruscus aculeata plants were still there. I sort of dumped them there in small tubs about 10 years ago and then forgot about them. My daughter reminded me that I had given her these strange plants with a flower in the middle of the leaf. . Anyway the tough little things were still hanging in there, so I've brought the disintegrating tubs down to where I can work on them, and have divided some of them and given them fresh potting mix and new tubs. They should perk them up.
Morning all/afties Pat. Hope you can revive the plants!
Chilly here too - bit of frost but already above freezing. Nothing unusual for the time of year except that it's dry
Fleece blanket BL - that's what you need
Good luck Wonks. Keep the gloves on as much as possible
Get yourself a pair of winter walking trousers which have a lining. Lighter, warmer and they're showerproof normally. If they get wet - they also dry quicker.
Internet was iffy last night so I'll have a quick look round before I head off to see what delights await us today.
Have a great day everyone - whatever you're doing
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
