I don't do creme eggs either...  too sickly for me...  image  but really love very dark chocolate, in (mercifully, for my figure) small amounts.  image

BM, thank you for your kind words - I'll try to get some photos in due course.  In common with other councils, ours has cut its budget for maintaining parks etc by a ridiculous amount; £200,000 per year for the next 2 years.  This means that smaller parks, little playgrounds etc, may not get regular maintenance at all, and at least 2 staff members will be shed from the "Greener, cleaner" park team - which is already under-staffed.  It seems that volunteers are now essential, if the park is to be maintained properly.  image

However, having said that, we really love what we do - it's like having a huge garden to play with, plus a load of woodland needing brambles bashed, streams cleared, archaeology undertaken etc.  And one of our number is pretty good at knowing who to approach for bits of funding for plants, etc.  image

Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

Hello all. Not long back from a quick scurry to Folkestone (felt like ages but was only just over 24 hours). Went to see Derek Jarman's garden. Haven't been for 15 years and it doesn't seem to be being looked after - looked very sorry and unloved. Rather sad to see - immediately got out my book on it when I got home, to make sure I wasn't imagining how it used to look. Maybe he didn't want it maintained? Maybe it's just been too long since he died and there's no one to do it?

However, am throughly cheered by seeing the news from yesterday. Congratulations Wonky, so happy for Lilyp, and squeeeeee for DD!

Nght all. Hope everyone has a fabulous long weekend.
