Just surfaced from holiday washing. All dried on the line in the wind - no rain, thank goodness. Then off to the shop to stop the fridge's tummy rumbling and a well-earned sitdown.
Can't believe it's almost May. I always think it is a beautiful month, probably my favourite.
Have I picked up correctly that you like walking Fairy? I came to it very late in life, when I joined one of my sons and one of my daughters who were both outdoor mad and realised what I had been missing. I so wish I had come to it earlier in my life.
We have a roast chook in the oven too, does anyone to onion pudding with it? I dont know anyone else
Hosta thanks, I might be choosy, so many sharp buds up but there are two really deep purple ones, I think they are the "blue"ones
Joyce, not been too windy here, must have run out of puff by the time it got here
OH and I been really busy today. He painting outhouses windows and me planting the sweat peas (finally) and tying in lots and lots. Sweeping paths and generally tidying up. Everything is pruned and fed so I feel we are quite well on this year. Shouldn't tempt fate
we downloaded weeks LoD so will watch two tonight, looking forward to it
hope everyone has had a nice holiday Sunday

Weeds are flowers, too, once you get to know them.” A A Milne
Yay, successful day (still more to do later if I can) - tied in all clematis, planted all the creeping thyme in between stepping stones, moved a stipa and planted another, moved a sedum.
If I can plant out all the geranium elke later I'll go to bed happy.
Oh, my eldest turned his nose up at store bought lemon meringue pie, so had to make do with lemon tart instead. Won't be anywhere nearly as good as yours I'm sure Dove ?.
Home made lemon meringue every time...shop bought is far too sweet and never enough lemon in it
I'm back from my little hill. Felt very odd going out so late. Just went back to Glen Douglas to do Beinn Breac which is a short little outing. Glad I didn't go Mamore-ing. Would have been a bridge too far. It was windy enough for my little fairy body. Will do photos later if I get a chance. Sheep, lambs, meadow pipits, sun, wind, views - and peace and quiet (apart from the pipits giving it laldy!) What's not to like?
Yes p'maiden - hillwalking. I came to it (properly) quite late too. I'd never have had time when I was younger - I worked long hours. Never too late though
Gorgeous photos Hosta. Why are young birds of any kind so adorable? Tasty too....
Cup of tea being consumed. Daughter has made some dinner, so I'll get a shower and catch up with you all before L of D
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

Hi everyone.

Did he/she help make the lemon tart? Quite agree about store bought lemon meringue pie. That kid's got taste!

Hosta, those babies are beautiful. Isn't it good that you have a lovely place for them to come to.
we're up early
for our trip to Canberra. It's very foggy out there, so a slow trip I expect.
Have a safe trip Pat.
Sweet dreams all those about to climb the wooden hill.
Bank Holiday lie-in if it's still raining I think...
