    Greetings all.

Still sunny and not quite as cold today.  No rain expected all week so we're going to get very dry.  I had to water the patch at the side of the house last night so OH can rotavate this pm and then I can bung on loads of compost and start planting roses, clems, hamamelis, winter honeysuckle and other smelly stuff.    Need to remember to leave space for a table and chairs for morning coffee in the sunshine.

Good luck with the scan Hosta.  Garden changes looking very good.  Satisfying project.

Sorry about your friend Busy, especially hard when you're far away and can't help directly.

Liri - your daughter sounds lovely.  Not surprised you miss her.  Ours left on Saturday after a 3 week visit and it seems very quiet.

OH is out there fixing up my wall mounted retractable hose reel after moaning that the ordinary one leaks at the reel attachment.   I am planning to carry on with my hosta bed this pm.  Ground cover this time.  I have some epimediums which I hope will like this garden better than they liked the old one.  Never lasted a winter.  Plus some tiarellas and a colourful leaved persicaria and brunnera.   Yum!

    Enjoy your day.

Hosta - have you watched all three previous series? It was my ex hubby that put me on to it. He saw the first one and mentioned it at the start of the second. At that point the Beeb had done nothing to promote it. They didn't do much until the end of the second one. I think it's the best thing I've ever seen on tv - in every way. The writing's it's real strength. He takes no prisoners!

I spoke too soon about not getting snow here - we had some showers at work this morning. It's only a little bit higher than I am here. Bitter wind so it feels much colder than the 7 degrees the thermometer says it is.

Will you ever have time to sit at a table Obelixx?  image

I'm not good at that at all, although I sat for a little while yesterday. Until I saw a weed....

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

Bargain of the day... charity shop 5p each! (still in cellophane!)

Much as I love a bargain, great charity for the local hospice so haggled an increased price for the sale!

Ooh Auntyrach - I have those books, plus the birds one. Inherited from my Dad and apart from being lovely books they bring back lots of memories. Great find!

I've wanted to watch LofD but I haven't seen previous series and am not sure if that would be a problem? Advice from fans, please.

I would have loved to see your daughter's concert, Liri. She sounds incredibly talented and I love Mozart. My daughters will be at home for some years yet, but I'm not surprised to hear that you miss yours.

Did some seed sowing this morning  - all rather late, and some was seed I'd gathered while out and about, so folded into random tissues and bits of newspaper. No idea when, either, so goodness knows if any of it'll germinate! Still, you have to give it a go, don't you?

Yes, you do have to give it a go, LG. That's what I do too!  And they're certainly more likely to grow if sown than if they stay wrapped in tissues...  image

Thanks to you and Obelixx for kind words re my daughter.  She is indeed very talented, but not sufficiently "driven" to be anything more than semi-professional.  And after OH, she's my best friend, so it's not surprising I miss her.

Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

Just back from scan. All clear.

LG, I didn't see the first 2 series of Line of Duty but there's only the odd reference to old cases, so I'm sure you'd still enjoy it hugely.

    Time for FOOD!!!

Great news Hosta. I'm very pleased for you.

Time for bed for me, even though Jules has Kat Stevens on tonight. Forget his new name.

weve had the first episode of Voice Australia 2017 on earlier and we've got Seal and Boy George as two of the judges. Should be good. Night all.
