Today has been a washing, baking, weeding, watering and a taxing the car sort of a day ... now I'm likely to fall asleep on the sofa any minute ...........
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
You've all been busy. It sounds as though your spring is very similar to our autumn. I always think of them as the "between' seasons.
Not sure what is planned today except a quick trip to town for something Hubby is waiting on. He's fully booked on the weekend at the rural fire brigade in town doing yetvanother "required" course. (Being taught to do what he's been doing for years). I think they trying to cover themselves for insurance purposes. This nonsense Is coming from 'the powers that be' in Sydney. I think they forget that our fire fighters are volunteers and have other things to do with their time. Never mind, whinging won't change anything. The most positive thing is that he gets to know other people from various brigades in the whole district, so that could be helpful in emergency situations,
Back from town. I was thinking about seasons after this morning's posting. When we moved to Canberra from Darwin in 1975 my eldest, Susan, was just starting her first year in high school. One of the questions she was asked was what were the different seasons. Her answer, based on living in the tropics all her life were the wet and the dry seasons. She had never experienced our usual 4 seasons. Funny to think about now. It had never occurred to me to teach her about those things
Hello Dove. I've even done a little bit of gardening for a change. Tidied up Oregano that was laying all over the French shallots and sorrell. They should be able to breath now .
It's interesting how the change in weather makes such a difference. I actually can't wait to get out there tomorrow. Mind you, based on my recent experience, it'll probably rain or snow! I heard the weather man say something about the alpine areas in Vic and NSW getting snow. Not sure which days he was talking about, but the Black Cockatoos have been making a ruckus among the Stone Pines, so I'm not sure what to expect.

Think I'll soon have the same problem as Fairy. Laptop only keeps its charge for 10 minutes.
Mine's plugged in most of the time.

Have a good visit with your son.
Morning all.
Pat, thanks for reminding me to check my pot of oregano. I still find it odd to hear Darwin friend talking about the wet and the dry.
Hoping to do some planting this morning as the weeds were cleared yesterday.
