Good morning all. Normal timings resumed today - though I've been up long enough to go to the doc's and do some shopping.
Forecast 2 C minimum last night turned out to be minus 2. Good thing I remembered to snuggle up the seedlings in the growhouse last night...
Pat, glad you're feeling well enough to catch up with some gardening tasks. It's very therapeutic!
Wonky, best wishes for your first day. Exciting times! My personal recommendation for comfort when gardening in the wet/cold is RHS Dry Touch gloves. Worth every penny... my most recent pair were seconds, just a fiver in Bury market; rather a long journey for you, though
GWRS - my OH tells me congratulations are in order! (For the confused, Lincoln City FC have got back into the football league. )
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
Our wet air has become the lightest possible rain but at least we haven't got the cold, penetrating winds of the last few days.
We have been to the Mairie to fetch our planning approval - long wait as they only deal with one person at a time so I started to worry about getting to France Agricole before midday closing. Managed it with 15 mins to spare - plenty of time for some goodies to leap into my trolley on the way to the MPC pile. It helps to have OH keen to get the veggie patch started - trays of plugs o f broccoli, pointy and Savoy cabbage, a yellow and a purple/brown sweet pepper, a self-fertile kiwi, trailing geraniums, rosa Lady Emma Hamilton and a trachelospermum jasminoides which I've coveted for years but never been able to grow. Yum. All at 10% off too. Oh, and 10 x 70 litres of MPC at half price.
Hosta - at least it won't last. Have you seen that there's a Michael Mosely prog on insomnia coming up soon?
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

I've just had a quick phone call from Wonky .......... thought you'd all like to know that she seems to be living up to Forkers' Standards - the boss seems very happy and so does she She's been weeding around pleached pears in a walled garden ........ sounds idyllic ....... think she's got something to you in the citrus house (not orangerie, they grow lemons in there ........ what would you call that?)
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

Woah Hosta! Snow? In Devon? In April? Surely some mistake.
LG, clearly.

I have just had a look at the osprey webcam.......the poor thing is sitting on a clutch of three eggs with her head just visible above the snow.
She'll have her feathers fluffed up to keep her warm. Do you have a link you can share or is it just for locals?
Obelixx.....Google loch garten ospreys. Sorry don't know how to do links.

She looks perky but none too chuffed at the snow.
