Wonky, hope the day goes well - let us know what you got up to.
Glorious winter's day here - bright sunshine, blue sky but COLD. I don't think we had frost though, we were forecast 2 degrees overnight. Most of the seeds I planted yesterday are in the dining room, but some had to be out in the Lidl growhouse thingummy as I've run out of space indoors - doubt much will be happening with them for a while!
I'm going to rebuild a little step this morning - that'll keep me warm. It's very makeshift, not proper building, just a slab on bricks, but I didn't have enough bricks when I first put it there so it's somewhat wobbly. Have been on a skip raid and so I'll make it much more stable with the extra bricks today. It's not the main step to the area, just a little gardener's nip through, so nothing fancy needed.
Time to wrap up warm!

Just realised that it was a month ago when I went out in the evening wearing a linen tunic and sandals and didn't even take a coat, just a shawl! British weather eh.

Same here LG, lolling around in sleeveless tops and flip flops. Socks and long sleeves and a scarf today. For the first time in ages it is grey and the air is wet but not actually drizzle or rain. Indoor jobs today then once we've run a few errands and stocked up on a shed load of MPC to condition the soil in my new rose and clem and other pongy bits garden.
Wonky - if you can't find good walking trousers try end of season sales for ski pants - lightweight, warm lined and waterproof. Thermal liners for gloves too and thermal body warmers to hep you have free movement. Good luck.
Pat - I once went with an Oz friend from the Brussels embassy, now in Canberra, to the Anzac parades and ceremonies at Ypres. Very moving but perishing cold all day.
Have a good one everyone.

Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

I'm watering my orchids this morning Pat and then coal face duties at 12. I'm guessing I won't be in shirt sleeves as I was on Sunday. I think the Gore Tex high viz will be back in action.
Hi Obelixx, I missed you earlier. Yes it's a very big day here. It was very moving watching today. They covered various Australian cities as well as France. I noticed that everyone (except those in uniform) were rugged up. In thevCanberra dawn ceremony, they were in rain. People looked very uncomfortable.
Yes, I think so. In previous years I can still be picking tomatoes and zucchinis until May. I really can't see it happening this year. Also, we had late frosts in spring the last two years and no one in the valley had fruit on their trees.
Our TV weather report this evening is still talking about snow coming.

That's very graphic Hosta. I assume you won't be working outside today.

We could almost be in the same place Hosta. Our weather is similar, at the moment.
isn't it weird Pat??

Not happy.
