Pat - as far as I know, poodles were bred in France to retrieve ducks for hunters - hence their French name caniche.   She should like water then.........

We have been to the Mairie to deposit plans for a wee extension to make a shower room, then a raid on the local supermarket where I can buy decent sized red onions and spelt and seed biscuits for OH to have with cheese.   Currently waiting for a frittata to cook then gardening - if the rain holds off.  Looks a bit gloomy out there now.

Yvie - good look with the clothes sorting.  Might be fun trying on old stuff again to see what fits now.   Better than h*work!

Thanks for the suggestions on mulch - am waiting on a reply from the local council,  but had not thought of trying local landscapers.

Sitting waiting for my medical - tummy grumbling loudly.

    Afternoon all.

    The rain has finally stopped.

Letting agent has just called to say we have a viewing on the flat on Wednesday. It only went on the website this morning. image

Thanks for the info about Poodles, Obelixx. That was basically my understanding as well, but she is not keen on getting her delicate little tootsies wet image. It makes me laugh to see her trying to avoid any moisture at all.

We have a Labrador who loves puddles and streams but turns out to be afraid of the sea.  Doesn't like the noise of the waves or the way the water creeps up at him.   Clearly doesn't know what he was bred for.

im off to bed. Hubby has been watching Masterchef professionals again, and I was just letting it go on in the background until I realised it was 1.15am (yet again). No wonder I find it hard to get up in the morning.image

Hello Villaverde, we looked at 2 places in Eye. But we live in France too, can't sell my French house for various reasons. 2nd OH sold his French house and bought the cottage in Norfolk, so we lead a double life!

Hosta, there are a lot of very uncertain English people in France because of Brexit and it can take years to sell a house here.

We've been to the SM. Promotion on potting compost, I now have 6 sacks so can sow my seeds image

Greetings friends!  On my way back from the shop (7 mile walk in the wind is fun!) where I had to pay a bill before leaving tomorrow.  I'm hanging on to a gate so I don't suffer a Mary Poppins incident...

It looks as if tomorrow will be ok, though cold,so I should get home ok - doubt if the trains will be affected by a bit of snow.  image

Must get back and wash the kitchen floor.  Think I might manage a coffee first though.

I'll catch up tomorrow on the train...

Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

Hello folks image  I'm back from the Suffolk coast - while I was in Aldeburgh we picked up tickets for GQT at Snape next month - son is taking me - he says he'll try to hide any boredom! image

We had a hailstorm in Aldeburgh, and heavy rain on the way back so hopefully my little pond is filling up nicely.

Hope you've all had a lovely day ....... I shall read back and see what you've been up to image

Desperately dull here and I'm bored.   Can't shift a headache and nausea since waking up and am taking it easy as I need to be on form on Wednesday when chappies start on the new kitchen installation.

Your walk sounds uncomfortable Liri.  I do hope you get home OK tomorrow.

We are told to expect stormy stuff on Wednesday.  Brilliant timing.  I went to a GQT at the British school in Brussels years ago now Dove.   Good fun and you get to chat with them afterwards.
