I hope your cough doesn't get too bad Lily P. Mine still recurs and I still have pain from my cracked rib.
Another haircut Dove? I thought you had it cut very short not very long ago.
Hockney not to my taste, but I'll look up that restaurant punkdoc recommended.
March has been coming in like a lion. Poured again in the night and more very strong winds. Forecast says up to 90km an hour today.
OH would have envied you singing in York, Liri. Beautiful town. I hope you enjoyed it. What sort of singing? OH sings in a choir that sings major religious works as well as light hearted stuff.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Pdoc - glad you enjoyed your treat - Hockney fans here - hoping to get to the show at some time but life's a bit busy at the moment. Glad you enjoyed Pollen St Social too - a bit pricey for us tho'. I keep spending my money on plants and paint
BL, the shorter my hair is cut the more often it needs cutting, and it was mid January that it was cut very short so it's lasted quite well really
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Morning all, Sorry to hear that you had a bad night LilyP Secondborn has a nasty cough at the moment. She took Night Nurse for a couple of nights and had a good nights sleep on both nights. How many nights can you get in one sentance.
Glad you enjoyed your weekend P'doc.

Haven't got anything planned today apart from visiting mum. Might pop to Ashwoods and see if anything inspires me.
the father of a friend knew Hockney when he was a young struggling artist. He often offered him money when Hockney had none. It was always refused, so he'd buy his paintings. My friend had one over his bed as a child.
In a heated argument about my friend's brother ( black sheep of the family ) his father shouted;
" TO THINK I SOLD 3 HOCKNEYS TO GET THAT BOY THROUGH UNIVERSITY"
Sorry to hear the lurgy has got you, LilyP . Hope it clears up soon and you can get some sleep.
Glad you had a good time in London, punkdoc. I love Hockney. Must go (am terrible for not getting around to these things - always happens when it's on your doorstep).
Well the forecast and outlook yesterday was so bad that I planned no gardening at all. But after a few dry hours I thought, hmmm, forecast seems to be wrong. So I got out and moved half a tonne of soil through to the raised beds. It rained a bit, on & off, but nothing too bad until it poured again in the evening. The dustbin was rescued and secure by that time! Will do the other half tonne today, and hopefully get out with my secateurs as well - keep spotting things I need to tidy up before they get going.
I am another that's going to adopt the 'monkey's birthday' phrase! Never heard it before but it's fab.
'If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need.'
Just come in for a cuppa. Then off to the medical centre to prune pear trees.
BL, the York group is called Enkelit - 15 women, conducted by my OH, rehearsing once a month and singing only Finnish repertoire. Sounds weird but is in fact lovely, being folk song based. (Should your OH be interested, he can find us on www.enkelit.org.uk.) I also sing in the local choral society, which is a mixed choir doing sacred and secular works (they've performed "Messiah" every year without a break, for well over 100 years!) - and with a little group of friends singing madrigals and the like. All good fun...

Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
If people are going to the Hockney exhibition, it is worth knowing that you have to book in advance at the moment, and you book for a specific time slot.
Been our top dressing all the permanently planted pots, it is lovely and sunny, but a biting cold wind.
How can you lie there and think of England When you don't even know who's in the team
Last exhibition I got to was Rembrandt , we had to book time slots I recall and they are strict about you keeping to them. seems a while ago now
oh been marvellous, the "or" got lost in translation and he has come home with Benylin, Corvona night and pholocodine, blackcurrant pastels, tunes and rolls to make the lunch!
