Having done the washing, tidied up after OH, read the post, sorted some business and cooked the lunch (using a strange assortment of leftovers found in the fridge), I've found time to catch up here...
Wow, Hosta! You had us all worried. Glad the pain has subsided - hopefully the doc will get it sorted easily.
Hi Sunflower! Nice to see you back...
Lesley, sorry to hear about your dad. Best wishes to you and your mum as you try to keep him comfortable.
Fidget, wise words re contentious posts. (And re almond slices... )
Dove, glad the car got fixed easily. Gone are the days when we could lift the bonnet, spray under the distributor cap with Damp Start, and pray...
A Scottish primrose to brighten a damp afternoon.
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
I have been happily oblivious outside in the rain digging out some currants - no idea what colour - ready for fence man who may come tomorrow or Friday. Just as I was wheeling the barrow and pot and spade round a lovely chappy arrived bearing gifts - my plant order has arrived so I spent a happy hour or so potting up and potting on as needed. It's a mix or repeat rambling roses, shrub roses, perennials and some osteospermum plugs. Lots of fun.
Just put the news on. Sounds messy and traumatic for those involved. I hope they've got the b*****ds.
Coffee for me. No cake. Days like this need chocolate.

Obelixx - it seems there was just the one attacker - he was shot by the police. Some of the people hit by the car (which it seems was driven by the same person) appear to be a party of French schoolchildren
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Hello Sunflower Lady, but I still think of you by your Christian name. I hope life has been going well for you.
I have been up a ladder cutting old and dead bits out of Felicité and Perpetué, then I came in to do late lunch as it's OH's choir evening. We eat in front of Escape to the Country, but that was interrupted by the news of the terrorist? attack at Westminster. Apparently some French students on a visit were mown down by the car on the bridge.
Just spoken to son on phone who has asked me round as soon as my loaf of bread is cooked.

Crikey, a lot has happened since my last post.
