BusyL, did the tractor get fixed or the tree moved? And what you going to plant in its place? Glad you managed to get the flights sorted although it does sound like it was a propped bother!
Lirio, the plans for the community garden sound as if they are really coming along! will there be pictures?
Good to hear from you Clari! Sounds like the life of luxury coming your way!...walls, plaster, electric! Phew! That's fancy living girl! Best get yourself some nice fixtures and fittings love! Also, your not alone, may have also made an exlax birthday cake for a sexist pig of a lodger once, but did go one further with deep heat on the loo roll.....he did leave though which was the desired outcome!
Obelixx, sounds like you are making the place your own now and crocus through the grass looks lovely! I have some under my apple tree.
Dove with the top down! how cone you have my weather!?!
Joyce, snow!?! No thanks! I'll keep the light drizzle then and I'll stop moaning about it!
Hosta, think I may have to check out waitrose for the bargains! Or do they save them all for you?
Fairy, thanks for the pm hope the coalface wasn't too grinding! Downhill to the weekend now though
Lilyp, hope your feeling better and all the potions are working
Today I made....a pergola, a steak and mushroom suet pudding and matching pie! I've eaten two of the three....
Think that's enough for one day night folks sleep well
Great stuff, Wonky! If I remember to take my phone there will be photos of our efforts soon...
Glad you feel a bit better, LilyP. Sleep is obviously what you needed.
What a palaver, BL. Sorry you've had so much trouble sorting out your flights, but it's great that you're getting there in the end. Hope you have a lovely restful break now!
Had a happy afternoon weeding and tidying in the garden, finally cutting down some herbaceous stuff, and admiring the insects, birds, new growth and promise of things to come...
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
OH has left the tree for the moment. Odd job man says he's coming to mend fences tomorrow and he'll have a look at the tyre. But OH pumped it up and it hasn't gone down yet, fingers crossed. The bottom half of the tree is still there, just leaning a bit. It's in a wilder shrubbery sort of area in front of a paddock. I'll probably leave it there, the tree was huge and there are others there too.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Wide awake club again it seems. We had a nice lazyish day. Hair cut, Waitrose, friend round for tea, long chat ( 1 1/2 hours ) with No 1 daughter , lunch, messed about with storm drains then bath, dinner a telly.
Clari, Bravo!!! I come from a long line of strong women and admire that above all else. Australian politics have a shameful history of cutting down any females who have shown ability in making strong decisions - needless to say it makes me mad.
i need to re-read everyone's posts and make a note of things I want to respond to. Love the gold pants but not the model, Dove it took me a while to realise it was your car with the top down and not you Wonky, the frame looks good. The Trachelospermum should look wonderful. You could also grow quick growing deciduous vines in between to get a quick cover. Also, just think of the perfume!
It's warmer outside today than inside. I went out and took some photos of the damage the Crimson Rosellas have done to my sunflowers! I'd better put them on another thread or I'll fill it up.
ive got HRH's coat waiting for her to wake up. 12.50pm and still curled up on her bed.
Great pergola Wonky - love the fact that it's a curved one - looks good even before the planting.
Glad to hear Lizzie's trip is on after all.
Charles Dowding was a great speaker - his no-dig stuff certainly yields impressive results, and actually makes a lot of sense when you think about it too. Got some ideas on where I might be able to buy tonnes of organic matter too - as you need lots of that to make it work. And seems I need to keep practicing with the hoeing too.
Out tonight - meeting up with a team of people I worked on a project with 25 years ago.....and although have exchanged the odd Christmas card, have not seen since. Really looking forward to it - we had a great time way back then

I've actually been out pulling some weeds out today. Amazing change from all the weeks of enforced escaping from heat and then a few days of wet.
I thought I'd check in early in case someone was having sleep problems, but maybe you've all managed a good nights sleep. I hope so.
Good afternoon Pat and morning to all others.
Having first cuppa to set me up. Intend getting out there and doing some planting and a bit of tidying/pruning.
Wonky, progress with pergola
Clari, progress with the house
Morning all
