I don't know what it's all about either, Lizzie.  Since getting myself upset by some comments on a Brexit thread I contributed to, I've been careful what I look at on the forum.  Plants & gardening fine; happy chat fine; arguments and spiteful comments definitely not.

Pity about your Christmas tree - but glad the strong winds have eased now and you've got power back.  image

Anyway, it's been a great gardening day.  Six hours of pruning... bits of me ache, but I've got a big smile on my face!

On LilyP's island I think I need a toothbrush and a sunhat, please.

    Bemused here too Lizzieimageimage

Can I take a hammock to the island please ?  And a pile of books ???......plus 10 minutes wifi a day for chats with Chicklets.....and maybe it can have a mountain in the middle as well as a waterfall so Fairy can go climbing, and I can have a ramble in the foothills.

....I'm on my way to the airport now ✈️✈️✈️

On my lovely peaceful palm swaying island there is absolutely no discussion about

    politics, religion or sex ????

What do you mean by "my own posters", Runny?  I'm responsible for my own posts, but not anyone else's.

No idea about the thread that's been taken down, I never saw it. On most forums there's a rule against discussing one thread in another thread (usually known as 'transferring issues'), whether negative or positive, which tends to stop things escalating and saves confusion. Sounds like that might have been a useful rule here.

Anyway, so interesting to hear about your choir, Liri. When I hear about things like that, it gives me hope - how wonderful that something so esoteric as a Finnish-language a cappella choir can exist in the UK, it tells me that humans are extraordinary and creative beings - and that anything is possible :-). I'd also love to hear the music!

Got my second half-tonne of topsoil through to the raised beds (just another tonne to go now) and did a bit of chopping and tying in today - lovely. Work tomorrow.

Well, I'm happy to say I don't know, and don't want to know, anything about it.

Sorry, crossed with your post, LG. I was replying to Runny.

Glad you too had a lovely gardening day.  image

Thanks for kind words about the choir - yes, somewhat off the wall, but lovely to be involved in.  You can hear excepts on the website I sent BL, if you feel inclined.

I will go and have a listen, thank you. Are any / all members Finnish speakers? The reason I ask is that I remember hearing that Finnish is one of the hardest languages in the world to learn. If you don't speak Finnish, is it purely about the sound, or do you discuss the meaning?

I'm in the dark, but happy to stay out of anything that upsets people. I like to keep happy.

lilyp, you could all visit here. Free vitamin D, my tea supply is good, Hubby's coffee ditto, friendly sleepy poodle to pretend to talk to (except she's deaf and has cataracts, so depends on wet nose on leg type of communication), no mobile phone coverage, although Hubby might allow the occasional use of internet,  you might miss the waterfall idea, and you might not like the constant alertness for venomous snakes, but no neighbours within yelling distance. Run out of ideas now.

Topbird, sorry to hear you've now got it. Hope you feel better soon.

im a bit too cool today. Sitting inside with track suit trousers and flannelette shirt on.

    Sleep well everyone.
