Evening all, Just as I was going outside it started raining so it was later in the afternoon before I got moving. Moved the statue I bought last year as since taking the conifers down it didn't look right. She looks comfy now in her new spot.
The obelisks I had spare are too wide for the new pots I bought so I'll have to use canes for my sweet peas might get round to doing that tomorrow.
Have been looking at plant porn again and bought a Clematis Purpurea Plena Elegans and a Viburnum Kilimanjaro Sunrise. Both good buys. The Viburnum was reduced and then I got 20% off as well. Waitrose has 20% off plants at the moment. Delivery was only £3.99 so not too bad.
Shame about the blackbird, I hate to find any dead birds. A sparowhawk flew into our conservatory a few years ago it was very sad.
Dove, I remembered you saying how lovely it was a while ago so I put it on my wishlist Have no idea where I am going to put it. Is yours in the sun or shade?
Great clem Yvie. I grew mine on an arch on our eastern boundary in Belgium so full sun from dawn to about 3pm.
We've been out dancing at a practice session organised by our teacher. Lasted 2.5 hours before my feet gave out. Now I need a glass of tonic to ward off cramps. Great tip that so huge thanks to those who recommended it. Working well so far.
We have a pair of magpies building a nest in a tree on the boundary between us and the neighbours. Do I need to worry about other birds? Something small and chatty seems to be nesting in a dense laurel looking bush nearby.
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.
"The price good men (and women) pay for indifference to public affairs is to be ruled by evil men (and women)."
Yvie , ours is on a west facing house wall so only gets afternoon sun.
Glad the tonic is working Obelixx - Ma swore by it for years.
Magpies Depends how interventionist you want to be. When we had the small holding I was once so fed up with them taking the ducklings every time a duck marched them through the yard several times a day, that we destroyed their nests. Not legal now, but you're in France so may be different. I know the theory about there being a balance etc ...
RIP Chuck Berry - genius :-(

Hope everyone enjoys the rest of their evening.
Yvie - I have that clematis - it's absolutely gorgeous - full of flowers every summer - lasts ages.

Morning all.
Magpies: least said, soonest mended.
Coal face duties today. Checkouts , although , even in the rain, I think I'd rather be driving.
Dove, I shall give " my ding a ling" a special outing today.
Morning Dove, Hosta and others when they come.
